Replace the ignition switch - this is a common problem. Take the cover off of the stering column -- look for the small black box behind the lock cylinder.

Will not shift out of 2nd gear

Tranny most likely shot. I believe yours is a T-5, I had the same issue years back but in 3rd gear. Usually the clutch going out is a gradual thing. So I would have a tranny shop look at it. Maybe find a cheap rebuilt tranny for ya.Look online or a trusted shop.

Run fault codes to find the reason that the CPU put the system in limp mode and repair the faulty sensors/ servos. I would go some where else and have the codes read because the system will not react the way it did if there was nothing wrong. Check the TCM for faults.

Suzuki swift 2nd gear pops out

what tranny? A/T or M/T we can not guess.?
what country helps too.?

bad shifter linkage, or adjustments.
or bad transmission.
I do this test off road.
the acid test.
i remove the linkage, and then shift to 2nd.
drive car, if it holds the gear, the tranny is good.
simple , huh? but is dangerous, do so only off road.
far from other vehicles or people of any kind.

if you cant do that , then fully inspect the linkage and RTM
read the fsm for your car.

My 2006 2500 dodge ram is having shift problems in 2nd gear only. The truck has a Cummins and an auto tranny. It holds in first too long, then when it shifts to 2nd, sometimes it goes back to first then...

I had the same problem, after 26k miles and replacing the computer, and many other parts on the truck transmission they replaced the tranny....same problem. In short, and another tranny they found small alum shavings in the tranny cooling system...they then replaced all lines, coolent and tranny radiator (cooler )with another new tranny....problem solved. It was the tiny metal shavings in the tranny cooling system that continued to circulate the system.
