There is a whining noise and the car will not go into gear now.

Changing the fluid in the manual gearbox will not affect it not moving. If it is a manual transmission then the clutch is defective if it is a automatic gearbox then the transmission has failed and you will need to remove it and have it rebuilt.

I have a 2003 hyundai sonata 2.0L H-Matic. I want to convert it to a manual gear box. Will any 2.0L sonata (models from 1999-2004) manaul transmission box fit to my car? Are the sonata 2.0L manual...

2ltr kia majentis/hyundai sonata both same engines/gearboxes,you may need the crankshaft from the engine to mate the manual flywheel.I would buy the whole transmision as you just take one out and drop one in.dont forget the electronics as the mapping system is different.

Can't lift battery out of 2002 Hyundai XG350. Is it screwed in from the bottom?

NO, But theres a hold down braket at the side bottom of the battery, look all around the battery towards the bottom you will see a small braket with a bolt holding it, remove that bolt and bingo battery comes out.

I can not get the alternator out

ok im a mazda tech i won a price for doing this for mazda
alot of techs were taking off the drive shaft and mazda was paying to much for the warranty labor haha

loose and remove the alternator and move it out of the way
from the alternator braket
what going to do next is remove the alternator braket its 3 or 4 bolts
remove joint shaft too
remove it completely and you can remove the alternator its a snug fit but its been done and going back in its the same prossedure alternator in first and braket next
braket torque bolts to 29 to 41 ft lbs

My v reg automatic sonata, seems to be lacking power, only going 5mph with my foot fully on the accelorater, any ideas please?

it seems that the autobox is the problem. the gearbox still moves the vehicle but there is no pressure build up in the gearbox. there is a hydraulic drum in the gearbox that may have a hole through all the years of working. this should not be a costly exercise. take it to a gearbox specialist and they should spot the prob. take care

2002 Kia Sedona XL suddenly downshifts

Start here:

Free registration, wealth of information.

For the record: if the sensors they're referring to are the input or output shaft speed sensors, they are very easy to find...just remove the air intake box (where the air filter is) and they're right there on top of the transmission. Input sensor is the one closer to the front of the vehicle, output towards the rear.
