What kind of noise? if rattling noise and noiser when you accelerate, either in idle position or while moving, then you need to overhaul. if high pitch sound and noiser when you accelerate, then check you bearing in timing belt mechanism

2008 santa fe front noise

Is it a "wine" noise that gets louder when you rev it up? Sounds like an idler pulley. Is it a 3.3L motor?

L have santa fe 2004, l hear some noise in the Transmission when the gear put it in the drive and reverse. would you please to advise me what the problem exactly. Thanks

The problem exactly is that you are hearing a noise. I cannot tell you what is causing the noise without hearing the noise. It can be very difficult to find the cause of a noise when you have the car right in front of you. It is absolutely impossible to do over the internet. My recommendation would be to take it to a repair shop and see if you can get one of the mechanics to come out and listen to the noise and give you an idea of what may be causing it.

2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4...started making a horrible loud noise after my cruise control went out. I have recently replaced my hub and the brake pads and the CV axle. The noise comes and goes and only happens...

does it get louder above 45-60mph? and much quieter at low speeds. It could be wheel bearings, a rear differential or front differential. If its a grinding humming noise its wheel bearings, listenin to see if theyre coming from the front or rear, left or right, or both when your driving to know what wheel bearing are bad. If its a whinning noise, its probably a differential. check and listen to hear if its coming from the front or rear. Also, check for loose plastic around the wheels. Lastly check your tires for uneven or choppy wear. move your hands front to back on the top of the tire. does it feel really choppy and rough, maybe you just need new tires

There is a squeeling by the belt/pulley area

It's a loose belt for sure.

If you have a spring loaded tensioner, and the belt has stretched with time, the tensioner will reach the limits of its travel without tensioning the belt enough to prevent that squeal.

If it has an adjustable tensioner, tighten the belt up.

Whining noise when AC or heat is on coming from engine compartmen

I suspect it is the blower fan and the ductwork for the air intake to the blower picks up the air in front of the engine compartment.

It would also be a good idea to have your alternator checked and use the A/C heat controls to see how much the blower motor is demanding from the alternator. Autozone and Oreillys will check the alternator on the car for free.

2004 Santa Fe Ignition switch locked

I just had this happen to me yesterday with my 2002 Santa Fe. After trying everything (jiggling steeling wheel, shaking the car, you name it we tried it). We got a chain and pulled the car ahead about 2 feet. That didn't seem to do anything but we then pulled up the emergency brake into the lock position and tried to start the car (with the ER brake on) and it worked!!! The steering wheel came unlocked and the car started up. Don't know if it was the pulling of the car that broke something free or if it was the ER brake, but that was what worked for me.
