Yes the I believe it has a different fan.

Does the SUV have a different fan for the rear ac?? If so this might help to troubleshoot the front. If they work off the same blower, then that means you have had a ac directional tube fall down somewhere causing the air to redirect to somewhere else.

Check the vents under the dash, make sure the a/c vent doors are not jammed, check the blower fan underneath the dash too make sure its still operational, check the fuse for the blower motor, then last check your freon level.

Ac on a 2004 trailblazer only making niose when ac is on. Would over charging the ac unit cause this?

Could be ,I would check the ac unit for worn bearings, the ac fan could also be the cause of this noise.

Rear ac blows in my 2004 Chevy trailblazer when vehicle is off. Front ac is off. What could be the problem? Just started after changed coil pack and hooked battery back up.

Turn everything, all switches, off then disconnect both battery cables and leave disconnected for 30 minutes. This resets PCM to defaults. Then reconnect ( + ) first then ( - ).

2004 Chevy Trailblazer, At first you could only get the air conditioning to switch on by turnning the vehicle off and switching over to AC. Now the AC will not come on and it is always blowing hot air out...

Could be your main blower motor resistor, mine would still run the fan even after shutting off the vehicle.(safari van) Had to unplug the resistor to stop the fan,it was near the blower under the hood. Bought a new one for about $45 bucks. Replaced it and all is fine. Might want to check relays first, sometimes they stick and need replacing.
Good luck.

Can't shut off the heat

You didn't say which switch you were referring to. So, since you say the "heat" keeps blowing out, I asume that you do not mean the fan control only (which would simply indicate a faulty switch) but the "heater/AC temperature control". Check the vacuum lines (to heater and AC vent controls under hood first then under dash) for holes/cracks/breaks or if one may have come loose.
