If the check engine light is on, then take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes stored there. Most parts stores will perform the scan at no charge. This will help narrow down the cause of the problem and will show what faults in what systems the computer has identified. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

It could be in fail safe mode. Try scanning the vehicle first if the check engine light is on. Diagnose the trouble codes first if any. Clear the codes and drive to see if it makes a difference. Now check the fluid and if it is varnished and has a burnt smell, take it to a transmission shop.

Stalling issue

an 03 has a gen 2 OBD that stores faults (not all faults trip the ck engine light) i would start there by doing a download (all faults)with a code ck'er , could be something as simple as an idle adjustemnt or maybe a vac line got broken/left off when doing the plugs/wire change , happens!!!

engine stalls.
are 99% failure to do tuneups? every 60k miles ,the least.
no engine stated. there are more than one opted.

can not help on zero engine posts.

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------

DTC P1599 Engine Stall or Near Stall Detected

Circuit Description
The diagnostic test checks for an engine stall or near stall and sets DTC P1599 if a stall condition is detected. A partial start where engine RPM exceeds 400 RPM and the engine does not start, will also cause DTC P1599 to set. This DTC is designed to capture snapshot data of the stall condition.

Since many things can cause a stalling condition use the snapshot taken of DTC P1599 to compare the values taken when the DTC set to the Typical Scan Data Value table. Look for conditions that could have caused the stall and how long ago the stall occurred.

Are any other DTCs set?
YES - Go to DTCs that are set
NO - Go to Step 4
Using a scan tool locate the Stall Data. This is the snapshot taken when the vehicle stalled and is not located with the Failure Records.
Check the MAP sensor display taken at the time this DTC was set.
Is the display more than the value specified?
95 kPa
YES - Go to Step 5
NO - Refer to Hesitation, Sag, Stumble diagnosis chart
One or more of the following systems may have caused the stalling condition.
• Fuel System.
• Idle Speed Control.
• Emissions System.
• Wiring and connections.
Perform Fuel System Check chart, check Test Descriptions.
Was a fault found and repaired?
YES - Go to Powertrain Control Module Diagnosis for Verify Repair
NO - Go to Step 6
Check for TCC improperly applied by a grounded TCC solenoid circuit or by transaxle hydraulic problems. Refer to Section 7 to diagnose.
Check ignition switch circuits for intermittent open to the PCM or ignition control module. Manipulate the key switch while driving to check for ignition switch intermittent or out of adjustment.
Check PCM ground and ignition control module ground.
Check for intermittent injector circuit operation.
Check the fuel PUMP ground for a loose or poor connection.
Did any of the checks above require a repair?
Go to Powertrain Control Module Diagnosis for Verify Repair
Refer to Diagnostic Aids

Truck stalls sometimes when i backup then engage to drive it stalls a few seconds then jumps in gear also it makes a whining sound when driving but on the highway its fine somebody please help i changed...

That may be a stuck torque converter solenoid..Did you have scanned for transmission codes..Do you any lights flashing,,like the overdrive light??

My car started to sputter and not work well when it rained and now it jumps outta drive to nuetral while going down the highway didn't have problem like this until after i had new radio installed and dog...

First, take out the radio and unplug the plug from the back of radio. Sometimes, the radio is grounded through a wire that goes hot at certain times. It should always be a ground at any key position. Try test-driving the car with the radio out, not just the fuse out, but the whole thing unplugged. See if your problem clears up then. Sorry about the tranny, and the recurring problem. LEt me know how it goes. TT
