Question about 2001 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

Same issue My 2001 Corolla is doing the same thing. I have had the electric modulator ( I think that was what they called it) replaced twice. After both times it worked fine for two weeks. Then once again, I couldn't get the lights go off. Both times the issue was preceded by the hi-beam indicator flashing until I turned on the headlights. My mechanic showed me how to disable the battery so that it does not drain when I have the car parked. But obviously there is something else going on....HELP

Try having a mechanic look at your multi function switch it could be shorting out causing your lighting module to go out

I think the engine is misfiring because of cam position sensor. These can be the possible causes :
- Faulty Intake Camshaft Position sensor
- Faulty Camshaft Position Solenoid Valve
- Engine mechanical condition - Valve timing off
- Intake Camshaft Position sensor harness is open or shorted
- Intake Camshaft Position sensor circuit poor electrical connection

How do i bypass twice module 2001 saab 9-5

Not possible as far as I know. You can get used ones off ebay with new keys and everything. Otherwise you will need to find an electrical genius and pay him $100,000.00 I award you points for trying though! I wish someone would come up with some rock solid simple and cheap solutions to replace all these complicated expensive and prone to failure dealer only modules.

Brake pedal all the way to the floor...Possible abs module?

Im going to assume that a mechanic has already checked for the most simple causes like making sure the brakes have been bled. If the abs module is faulty it will default to just a no abs state, but that wont cause the pedal to go all the way to the floor. I agree that replacing the caliper is probably gonna fix the problem, but I might try to bleed the brakes first and see if that solves it first...

Check that the electric fans are not running all the time. If so, then replace the fan control module.

Yes could be the blower relay or loose ground in the blower circuit.
Try your local library they may have a manual with the cicuit diagram.

2001 Toyota Corolla LE 4 door rear axle noise I believe

First thing I would do is to get a chassis lube job. Many places that do oil changes will also do a chassis lube for you at the same time. The axle bearings can get dry and do require lubrication. If left to long without a lube job, pits can form inside the bearing and will require replacement.

Transmission

Its the transmission control model. it is malfunctioning and it will need to be replaced.

This module initiates the shifting signal that is then carried out by the shift solenoids in the transmission case. replacing the module will fix the issue.

Need to replace Electronic Control Module (ECM)

The ECM is located under the dash, on the passenger side.
It is a silver box with 4 plug-in wiring harnesses, rioughly 8" x 5"x 2"
It may help if you remove the glove box door, in order to see it.
Hope this helps.

2001 toyota corolla parking lights stay on

Most likely a bad headlamp switch, UNLESS you have a remote starter hooked up. Corollas with a body computer really do not like remote starters, they cause really bizaare things to happen.
