Question about 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

While cleaning veh, battery died down.....once we jump started it, the radio seems to be locked up. The treb/bass lights blink on and off, but the radio will not come on. I need to know if its locked up and what to do to unlock it? We have already tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. That didn't help. I can't tell which fuse would run the radio if that is the problem.

Sounds like you have an anti-theft feature in the radio...only way to get it working again is to go to a dealer with proof that you own the car and they can get the code for you. Or, if you bought the car new, or have the original paperwork, it should be written down there. Most dealers I know do this free but recently, I heard that some are now charging for this.
Good luck.
To avoid this happening when changing a battery, most parts stores sell a small device that plugs into the lighter that maintains radio memory power while you are working.
Also...charge and check your battery...If it died that fast, it may be close to being in need of replacement!

The Fuse box located under the driver's side of the dash. Its to the left. There should be a fuse slot labeled radio. To be honest though, I don't think thats the problem. Of course without the vehicle in front of me, I couldn't tell you were to go next.

Getting spark? Power coming from the battery I think you meant to say, if I am correct. If it won't jump start, sounds like a cable from battery to vehicle is not connected. Igniton switch connection or fuse maybe. Check the daisy chaining of the negative battery cable for clean contacts. Also a starter relay could be bad. Just some more suggestions to add. Don't drive to far from home until repaired. Towing cost too much as you know by now.
Never did like remote locks, We as humans seem to be getting more and more depended on convienances that cause us more inconvienances. Could try a positive cable to starter to check if it will turn over the starter. Voltage regulator could cause battery not to charge while driving. When car dies, do lights work or they dim from engine sucking battery dry. Just some suggestions.

Car sat for 18 months, the battery died so i replaced it, after this the radio didn't work (maybe when i replaced it i shorted something out?) it ran for a while, but when it was driven at night the airbag...

All of these are signs of a dying battery, because it's not recharged by the alternator.
Test the alternator this way: jump the battery from a running car and start your engine; rev the engine to about 2500 rpm and disconnect the jumpers; test the voltage - on a working alternator it should read 14 to 14.5 volts; if it shows 12 volts or less then the alternator is totally dead.

Sounds like you have a very weak battery. It would be beneficial to charge the battery for some time before trying to jump it. You could also take the battery to a Auto Parts store and have them check it. If it is bad, then bring a new one home, and try it then.

If your battery is too weak, sometimes you cannot jump the car.

Let me know how what you figure out, and I can provide further help.
