Water leak check:
1. Plenum chamber leaks at loom exits (Accident damage or corrosion)
2. Water leak at air con fan inlet (Accident damage or gasket wear)
3. Water leaking from air con heater pipe (corroded water pipe to/from heat exchanger)
The water may be getting in to the car through a damaged, or worn piece of weather stripping around the doors, trunk lid, the front windshield or rear window. Has the car be in an accident recently? Is there rust around the front windshield, or rear glass? These issues can allow water to get into the vehicle.
I am not an attorney but if you didn't have to add water to your car before the accident and now it has a huge crack then The accident caused the problem. I would seriously look into retaining legalcouncil over this matter or this will be left for you to deal with. It is possible that the crack was there and the wreck made it worse but you would have noticed it prior to the accident. Also if the crack was there before then it was at least drivable and your leak was small and manageable. Please do seek legalcouncil though. Hope this helps. Good luck.
