Question about 2004 Toyota Sienna

Losing Auto A/C when I manually turn on fan

While driving the van w/ auto A/C on, occasionally if I increase manual fan the A/C will shut off and I cannot reactive A/C unless I shut-off van and restart in auto mode. Naturally, I would assume you could press the auto A/C button to reactivate the A/C or simply operate the A/C in the manual mode but the A/C would not respond once the fan is manually adjusted. This isn't always the case but happens about half the time. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Never heard of this before but from the symptoms you describe i would go for the computer that controls the climamtic functions and these are expensive and dealer only to reset the software once its installed .Manually by pass the whole thing without the clima ,ie want it colder turn the fan up higher ,too cold turn the fan down

I have a 2005 ford e-coline van when running and going over 25 mph it shuts off i have to turn key off and restart

this might be a worn throttle position sensor because if it runs at idle and then when you increase with gas peddle there could be a worn spot in the sensors contact also if this is a drive by wire throttle body(throttle motor with a plug on it and no lever for manual throttle increase this also could be bad you must have a check engine light on if not when you first turn the key for power///NOT CRANKING ///check to see if all dash warning lights come on in the self test of the system the bulb could be burned out for the check engine light if so go to auto zone or advance auto and they will scan your system for trouble codes to give you a better idea post back with results and progress and we will go further if needed you did not specify what E van 150-450 and motor size 4.6--5.4gas------6.0 diesel so I'm assuming that it's gas please be specific if you post back all of us here need this info for trying to help you remember your there in front of the vehicle we are not here is a couple of pics for you this is the throttle body motor and you would get a check engine light and a wrench sign on the dash warning lights
this is the throttle position sensor below check engine light will be on
26381095-lw30xb3gqn3gwqtvkpmbzy1k-1-2.jpg there is also the possibility of really warn spark plugs that are way out of gap and the engine can only run under light rpm load and when rpms increase the spark plug electrode gap is to far out and the heat from the plug firing inside the head is making expand even more and thus no spark plugs firing and no rpm increase and engine dies look at the plugs first and check the gap then go further as described above good luck Stephen

Express. When it's cold or the engine is cool, it will turn over but won't run. If I go back later or when it is warm, the van will start. What's wrong?

I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan 2.4L 4cyl. It will occasionally just stall out while driving. No hesitation or bucking occurs prior. I then pull over and am able to immediately start it right back up like...

It does have an ASD relay. It will be in the power distribution center under your hood. Here is a picture of the fuse box with the ASD relay. Hope this helps, PLEASE RATE!!! :)) James Booth2008-08-10_230302_shot0571.jpg

Air conditioner goes off when fan speed is increased

when it's on 'auto', the fan adjusts according to the temp in the car and the temp setting you have it set at. try setting the auto temp control down to 65, then hit the "-" one more time to send it to "LO" - the fan should automatically jump up to max.

Occasional missing. A very occasional miss or stumble. Has even died on low speed cornering.

my Ford van was doing the same thing i put in spark plugs, wires, fuel filter do this first try some STP gas treatment and make sure you have a half of tank of gas in the tank also give these websites a try and if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your van wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Fan does not shut off after van is turned off. runs battery down

The fan relay must be stuck on, if you have the owners manual it should show you which relay is for the heater fan. Those relays just pull out, try to pull it out as straight as possible, you may have to use a pliers. You can buy them at most auto parts stores. Sometimes they get hot and melt the plastic where it plugs in, you may want to check that too.

Heater fan will not work until the car warms up and then it will start to work.

If your van has climate control try switching from auto to manual, a lot of auto climate controls "Wait for warm up" before turning on fan for heater.
