Question about 2000 Pontiac Sunfire

Motor blower not working

I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. The motor blower (for AC HEAT) is not working at any speed. I believe it is not receiving any voltage. I tested the motor blower by connecting it to the battery and worked well. The relays and fuses are fine according to the tester. I also changed the resistor, but i dont think it may be receiving any energy either. What else could it be and where in the car can I locate ot?(if a part). What is the likelihood for it to be a wiring issue? Is it possibble to be the part where the relay goes? I tested each of the holes where blower relay goes and only one produced light in the tester. Does this mean anything?
Thanks!

What is an AC diode fuse? I have a 2006 AWD Pontiac Torrent the AC/Heat doesn't work, I've changed all fuses for the HAVAC and still no AC/Heat blowing out of vents. What could be the problem?

Could be a number of thing's ! Testing the electrical circuit is the way to find out what's wrong . Using a wiring diagram and a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Videos on youtube showing how to test it ! Without testing i would only be guessing . Does it work in high speed ? In high speed it by-passes the resistor . If it doesn't work in any speed more then likely the blower motor is the problem !
Air Speed
The HVAC control assembly applies ground to the blower motor control circuit that corresponds to the selected blower speed. The resistors and the blower motor are in a series circuit. The following list represents the number of resistors in series with the blower motor per particular speed request:
• Low speed--3 resistors
• Medium 1 speed--2 resistors
• Medium 2 speed--1 resistor
When the operator requests High speed, the HVAC control assembly applies ground directly to the blower motor through the high blower motor control circuit. The resistor card has a fusible link which, if blown, will require that the card be replaced.

Blower motor does not work on first 2 lo speeds. Is there a diode for the switch or some other electrical problem.

Hi,
You need to change the blower resistor located behind the blower
motor under the glove compartment

Blower not working for ac or heat

Remove the blower motor resistor and check it over.If it looks like it has a burn spot on it it is bad.Sometimes they will look good and still be bad.this is a common problem with blower not working. Before removing the resistor try tapping on the blower motor. If it starts to work then it is the blower motor itself. Also check fuse. They are under the hood and on the side of the instrument panel.Good luck.

2000 pontiac grand prix,heat/ac does not blow out...when it does its for about 30 sec. before it shuts off again, also it only comes on at 5(highest setting)

this could be one of two things .1 a bad blower motor resistor .2 a bad blower motor. if the blower motor resistor is bad i should work on high all the time.

2000 grand prix fan speed

i have been having that same exact problem with my 2002 grand prix for over a year now, and when my ac is on the lower setting the it doesnt work plus the headlights and lights on my dash go out. On Max everything works. i changed the blower resistor(about $35), still doesnt work. i changed all relays and fuses related to the ac, still doesnt work. i changed out the actual ac control switch in the dash, still doesnt work. i have changed everything but the blower motor and have asked every mechanic and auto parts retailer i come across and no one knows the answer. The best answer i got is that it is probably a wiring problem like a short somewhere.

1998 pontiac sunfire interior AC fan always on high.

This problem is caused by a burnt out fan speed dropping resistor, the resistor is near the blower fan on the air box.

Fan isn't working

You have to get in under the dash on the passenger side and pull the blower motor(you'll need tools). There is a circuit board which plugs into the blower motor with I believe 2 screws....pull it and go buy a new one and reinstall.

I did this a few years back so I can't remember the part....easy fix except tight space. Unhook battery terminal before you start as a precaution!
