SOURCE: ac not cooling properly

THE 1ST THING U DO IS VERIFY THE SYSTEM IS FULLY CHARGED, WHAT IS THE LOW SIDE LINE PRESSURE? SHOULD BE AROUND 28 PSI WHEN COMPRESSOR IS ENGAGED.

SOURCE: cooling fan not functioning properly. running 200

if this is an electric fan, first test your coolant temp sensor located in the block or possibly the radiator, then make sure theres not an obstruction in the system itself and have the system flushed out and the radiator boiled out(depending on radiator material)and checked,if its a newer model vette it may have a double-cross flow system and they plug up easier than the standard cross-flow system

SOURCE: DId anyone ever find out what "ENGINE HOT/AC OFF"

The only way to know for sure is to use a scanner to see what the PCM is seeing. You may have a bad sensor, a inaccurate gauge or possible a PCM issue.
Do you really want to guess at this point ?? because even with a guess you will need to verify it with the proper tools.

sounds like temp sensor at fault.i would take it to a ac specialist or chevy dealer.to get it diagnosed as they will have the relevant diagnostic software etc to pin point the fault. problem is that everything needs to work properly in system as one fault will bring up other problems etc

Where is the cooling fan relay-there are several under hood in relay box but they're not labeled

You are correct the high speed relay is bad. The cover to the fuse box and owners manual should tell you the location

A/C cooling fans, A/C only cools when car is in motion????

Cooling fans are most likely not coming on. I believe that vehicle has two fans..side by side, one closer to passenger side is ac fan..should come on when you cut ac on. I would check coolant level some sensors will not read temp correctly unless submerged in coolant...fans should kick on when car reaches somewhere around 185 to 205....should be a plastic fuse box under hood that houses fan relay...also should be identical relays that run headlights or something else..you can swap relaysaround to see if the relay has gone bad. If fans aren't coming on or one of the two is..turn the one not coming on by hand to see if fan motor has frozen up

In my 2000 ford expedition my temp gauge keep jumping back and fourth when I run my ac. Y?

Running the AC does increase load on the engine, and thus heating, so if gauge changes gradually, this is because the compressor kicks in for a while, then kicks out. If cooling system is not working properly, small additional load could cause temp change. Other possibility is compressor going bad and causing excess drag.

If change is sudden, loose wire somewhere near compressor could be the issue.

Cooling fan temp light stays on when air condition is on. fans are not kicking on. Is it the fan module ?

I didn't know it had a light on the dash that said "cooling fan temp".
My 93 doesn't.
The cooling fans are controlled by the computer and turned on when the ac is running or when the engine reaches 220 degrees.
A mechanic would check the fuse and relay for power and the fan motor for power and ground.

Radio fuse on 96 galant keeps blowing out and clicking from glove box when recirc for a/c is pushed out engine gets hot on acceleration only in temps above 90 degrees outside

Check to see what else shares the same fuse with the radio. If cigarette lighter is on it could be a penny or something stuck between the lighter and socket. That would be because when it is hotter the ac is working harder to cool the car, forcing the ac condenser to heat more. Make sure all fans are kicking on to cool it down. Most cars have two fans one for when ac is off and one for when its on. So make sure both are kicking on or that one is kicking on and off with two different speeds. You can hear the fans kicking on and off when the car is on in park. If you don't hear fans kick on check fan fuses, relays, and fan motors.

The ac compressor runs and cools properly when temp is cool, but on warmer days it will run then kick out and will not kick back in for several hours later. All pressures are good...the freon charge is...

What year is the vehicle ? The A/C button on the control panel is a direct input to the PCM /ECM - engine computer . The PCM/ECM energizes the compressor clutch relay to engage the compressor .

2002 Chevrolet Impala overheating while idling

the thermostates on the 3400 engines are late because the fans kick in at the last moment. if you run your ac on you will notice that the gauge stays in front of the half mark or right on the half mark. that is because when you turn on your ac your fans will kick in earlier and stay on the whole time the ac is on. if you run your car with the heat on or nothing on that leaves the late thermostate to kick in verus you turning on your ac and it by passes the thermostates and runs the fans once the engine gets at at lest 120 deg. i use to have a 2002 and i had the same problem. this will keep your engine cooler. also if you don't want your air on just turn on your windshield defrosters (not the back windshield) and that helps keep your engine cool because your defrosters use your air compressor which is really your ac. so it still kicks the fans on earlier.
