Chevy 1500 5.7 wont start

I changed the engine from a 1994 5.7 to a 1992 5.7 and now it wont start. The timing is set TDC and it still wont start. The valve cover is off and no oil is pumping through the valves will this cause it not to start. Will someone please call me at 808-699-9013 or please email me.

Why wont my 1998 astro van start?

With the engine at #1 TDC your rotor bug should be pointing at your #1 plug wire.

My 1984 302 has a timing issue I have change the oil pump and reinstalled mother and now my timing is off this

The distributor drive gear has angled teeth, so it turns as you slide it into place. Turn the engine over until you are on TDC for number one. Look at your distributor cap and see where the number one wire terminal is. Pull the cap and make sure that the rotor is pointed to it.

I set the timing TDC and matched up all of the marks but still wont start I rotated the crankshaft two times and everything lines up but still wont start what am I missing?

Has the engine been stripped down at all? If it has, the cam may be 1/2 turn off and should be realigned. Make sure no 1 cylinder is at TDC and that the valves are not moving . On a 4 cylinder you will se the valve change on cyl.4 when cyl 1 is TDC. Check that you have spark on any cylinder by fitting a spark plug and hold it to earth. Check your coil lead.

99 chevy vorte marks wont line up

if you lined up marks on cam and crank gears when you installed timing chain and you used the original timing cover and timing mark tab and did not turn engine before checking the marks the balancer is spun and needs to be replkaced if the engine has been turned it may be 180 degrees out of time you will need to turn engine at least two full revolutions and recheck maybe upto 4 times if it still does not line up with all original parts no chrome timing covers or timing tabs the balancer is bad and needs replaced

How do you change a timing belt in a 2008 Chevy aveo?

place engine at TDC, remove timing cover, remover belt, install new belt, be sure cam timing marks align and engine stays at TDC, i recomend buying a service manual, they cost about 15 bucks and save alot of headaches for begginers

1996 chevy c1500 5.7. i replaced the lower intake gasket. now with it all put back together it wont start. i took the distributor out and set the motor to TDC and set the distributor to the #1 cylinder....

You need to pull the distributor back out, put motor to TDC
now you say its always a tooth off...the timing chain may be alittle worn..so when you are trying to put the distribor back in ...put a socket or something... to move the crankshaft.....move it back and forth untill the distributor falls in....AT the number one plug on cap....
Hope this helps you out ??

1989 Chevy K2500 350 will not restart after warmed up? I have replaced Heads, reset timing 0 TDC new plugs, coil, cap, button, module and pick up coil. Engine starts cold runs great but will not restart...

tdc is usually set at 8 degrees BTDC for an automatic and 4 BTDC for a manual transmission. This may help. Does the engine run rough at start up being set at 0TDC?

I have a p1345 code on a 99 chevy 1500 5.7

start over! disconnect the battery. reset the dist. in properly aligned with TDC and #1 towards the front of the motor. once these steps have been taken and youre sure youre ready to fire it off, do so. make sure you set timing, you probably need to get a scanner and clear the codes. if you can afford one with "live data", it will serve you well if there are any further problems.

2007 Chevy silverado 1500 4.8 wont start

If you had to loosen the engine mounts and raise or lift the engine to gain clearance you may have accidentally pulled apart an electrical connector or cracked the distributor cap when it hit the firewall. good luck
