Question about Ford Contour
I just replaced the engine. the car turns but wont start. power going to coil pack but nothing coming out. no fire going to the spark plugs. we've checked almost everything. not sure what this could be. It did turn on just for a second and shut back off again. Cant get it to turn on again.
Have you checked that the points in the distributer are set ok and havent closed or burnt,as this is what makes the coil spark the ht lead to the distributer cap to the rotor arm then to the plug leads.
hope this helps

SOURCE: cobalt no spark
I was going to say crank sensor, but you changed it. What have you done to it latley? Or did this just start? I kinda want to say PCM for some reason. Any welding done on the car latley?

A misfire doesn't always have to be ignition... it's just the most common cause. Faulty or plugged injector, low compression. You need to check fuel pressure and test the fuel injector flow. Then check compression. If you don't have tools for these tests, take it to someone who does. Testing is much cheaper than throwing parts at the problem.
