Question about 1995 Honda Accord
I went to Honda on Friday evening during the clunker event it was very busy and I was interested in purschasing a van. My husband was there previously, and told me to ask for Bianca, who provided good service. The oddysey van, I was interested in had a preowned sticker on it. The dealership, were offering 2250 off invoice for the van and other autos, in addition to the clunker. and agreed that they would honor the offer on Saturday,by one of the managers . I asked for a price for the vehicle before I left and after much anew was told the people who make that decision are not here. I was told to come back tomorrow. I came back early, no one was available to help. I returned an hour later, with my clunker, necessary paperwork for the sale. I asked if I could be given a price, which I was given nearly 3 and a half hours later, through dealer delay, check clunker out, work on paperwork, copies. I was also told the car was not pre-owned but new, despite the sticker with stock number etc. on the front windshield, like other preown cars. I still was interested in purschasing and asked if the price could be negotiated. The price was not finalize. Another salesperson show a customer the car, and they were waiting to see if I would purschase it. My salesperson, supervisor writes on a paper directed to me. "Thanks for coming, 2,000 off the invoice, are you crazy!' The salesperson states that the manager has indicated the car has been sold to another couple. The couple had not completed any paperwork, I had not rejected the offer, had waited over a 24 hour period, and would have taken the offer given to me if my request was not honored. The manager, Michelle, in my opinion, was not professional and when told it was not appropriate to write the comment, she said, but I put a smiley face after. Having to wait so long, was a tactic to see if they could get a better offer, but the offer Honda gave to me, did not stand, because they decided to take another offer, that was highter than what they gave me. The tactic of having a customer wait over 24 hours and over 3 hours the next day, and initially not wanting to honor the agreement, I did not refuse their offer, but they went with a customer they did not have to honor the $2250, they agreed along with cash for clonkers. I was told my Michelle, "first come first serve," despite the fact it was the dealer who delayed the offer. It was disappointing, the way I was spoken to and my family will not buy a van or car from Honda due to poor treatment. I brought my first new car from Honda 20 years ago and was treated well, but from a supervisor in her 20's, who rolls her eye and appears to present an indifferent attitude about treatment of a customer . She has lost this customer who wanted to not only purschase a van, but also a car later. I live in Clarksville and I will not recommend Coleman Honda, based on poor customer service and the apparent presentation, we are interested in the money and customer satisfaction is not a priority. I will pass my experience on to others in my family and the community.
Well, you did the right thing, walk away, and give someone else your business and money. I am curious as to the mileage on the preowned, then suddenly 'new' van. Good luck, hope you find a dealer that treats you well.
