You need to change the timing if you up the octane this much. get a garage to do it

Either your timing is off, your valves are sticking or the 93 in way too hot-burning for your engine. I would check the first two.

spark timing way off. or burned valves.
i dont think a 4L can change cam timing. (gears)
that is gross misfire,
so bad it backfires to the throttle body and air cleaner
in all cases is bad spark timing, or worse burned valves.
bad rotor & cap,?
doing a tune up get rid of that carbon tracked bad cap.
and timing magically works.
ever do a full tune up this decade or in last 60,ooo miles>

What could cause eng to stubble/rough running mostly when giving gas?


I have no idea what kind of car or truck you have but have you checked fuel pressure and/or volume?

My truck wont start i just changed new spakplug cables


wires are crossed up. 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 is the firing order, and the order of the wires around the cap.

Have you checked the coils? It has three above the rear valve cover right?

Back fire and fuel bogging changed distrib plugsand wires,fuelfil


The fuel pump is in the gas tank but there is also a gas regulator right at the front on the valve cover.
