There should be a large power wire connected to the starter. Then close to it there should be a small bolt extending out of the starter. If there is nothing connected to that bolt then that might be where the connector you speak of goes to. Also some starter connections require that both the large diameter and the small wire be connected to the same post.

Where is the starter relay for 1998 oldsmoblie

Most starter relays are part of the starter motor assembly.
Also known as the solenoid.
(This way it serves 3 purposes.
1. The Relay section uses solid copper Contacts for Less volt drop at the high current that a starter motor draws.
2. The Solenoid section is the Mechanical Plunger that engages the cog to flywheel.
3. The Motor spins because the copper contacts are a super connection supplying 100+ Amps)

Does the battery go direct to the Starter Mptor?
Is there a small wire next to where the Battery connects?
If so then this is the relay activation wire (12v to pull relay in)

What would be the cause of a horn not working on a 2002 oldsmobile alero?

loose connection, remove front of steering wheel and check underneath. theres a copper ring, that when you press the horn it should make contact with another copper bit . or you need a new horn (where the sound actually comes out), or the 2 wires that go into the actual horn have come loose. you can find the actual horn usually by looking under the front of the car.

Intermittent Starting problem in mornings

I would tend go with the starter here, it is likely the copper contacts inside the starter solenoid are burnt and making a poor connection. If that is the case you should hear a click from the starter but no engine start. If not then check the battery cables and the stater connections for looseness or corrosion.

I just replaced my turn signal switch in my 82 not 84 rampage. it works fine but when I replace the steering wheel, the horn honks and won't stop.when I look at the switch, I don't know how it...

I don't have a diagram, but if I understand what you're saying, there is a copper ring at the top of the steering column, visible before you install the steering wheel. The copper pin is connected to the horn button. The intent being that when you press the horn button, it completes the ground from the steering wheel through the horn button, through the pin, to the copper ring.
If this is correct, there should be no contact between the steering wheel and the copper ring other than the pin. Check to see if there may have been a spacer (washer, etc) below the steering wheel on the steering shaft that holds it just far enough away from the copper ring so that only the copper pin makes contact.

When i try to start my car it just clicks and wont start

Several possible causes present themselves:
  • Check battery condition (low battery - voltage between the terminals should be 12.4volts) and cable connections to terminals (should be tight and clean)
  • Worn contact plates in solenoid failing to provide high current to energize the starter motor windings ? - remove starter motor assembly - dismantle solenoid and replace copper contact plates and plunger ring (readily available as an inexpensive overhaul kit).

Hi
Replace the copper contacts inside the starter motor, it connects the current to the rotor once the bendix drive gear is engaged with the ring gear.
