Speed control not working on 1994 Mercury sable wagon

Two things to look for are a vacuum leak and/or an electrical fault. The engagement switch on the steering column is the first place to check. You can use a test light or a voltmeter to verify voltage is getting to the control electrical connector under the hood. The diaphragm in the controller may have started to leak or a vacuum hose may not be applying full force to the diaphragm because of a leak.

Where is the fuse for the alternator in a 2000 murcury sable

There are three fuse's for alternator ! One in the under hood fuse box, F126 30amp, one in the central junction box F227 10amp an there is a 175 amp fuse or fusible link installed in the heavy gage wire from battery to the back of the alternator . Rather then tearing the vehicle apart looking for fuse's , take a volt meter an check the wires at the alternator an see if your missing voltage at any wires . Does the charge light or battery symbol light come on when you turn the key on ? If so you have eliminated one of the fuse .

1988 ford taurus wagon chimes everytime i go 45+ mph and the speed light flashes... what's wrong?

You probably have the speed reminder set to 45mph. It chimes & flashes to let you know you are speeding. It will tell you how to adjust it in your owners manual. If you don't like it set it high eg: 100mph. then it won't happen.

Best solution I can come up with is to go to your nearest wrecking yard and buy an instrument cluster to replace yours.

Need to change oil pump in a 98 murcury sable 3.0 ohv

i am working on the same thing on somebody else's car and trust me it is alot of work. you have to remove all the pulleys and accessories, the valve covers, oil pan, and u have to do all this just so u can remove the front engine cover. unlike most cars where the oil pump is located in the oil pan, this is mounted in a weird position and it is rotated by the crankshaft. i am not yet finished but i know once i get the front engine cover off i have to remove the timing chains also. in my opinion it is not worth the time or the money. i hope somebody finds this information useful.
