More than likely the problem will be in your hvac control head in the dash.

I seriously doubt it's the compressor.. The system has high amd lo pressure systems that protect the compressor.. That's one thing to consider and the second is the positioning of the shutter doors that controll where the air goes.. Could be a simple adjustment.#2 can cause a #1 issue.
