Have your spark plugs, distributor wires checked. Make sure your crank sensor works.

Can't git engine to fire know fire from coil.

Rechk plugs firing order. chk soliniod and coil r ok, rechk fuel is getting into engine- choking usually determines that, u can smell the over choked engine. I f engine turning & choked hold throtel to floor while cranking and leave there until it fires. if no firing happends it must be electrical. rechk electrical connections. Cheers

IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG.I WAS DRIVING AND MY 89 TOYOTA PICKUP 3.0 4X4 QUIT RUNNING.WE FIGURED OUT FIRE WASNT GETTING TO THE PLUGS.WE INSTALLED CAP,ROTOR BUTTON,WIRES,DISTRIBUTER,AND IGNITION...

will try to help.try checking the ignitor assesmbly, with out it your truck will not get fire or low fire,so low you won't catch it. the ignitor gives it an extra boost of fire to ignite the gas in the cylinders. try that, but if it checks bad, used ignitors must match numbers with old onr. try used auto parts online. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Trouble shoot 1994 GMC will not start

The only two things that can cause an engine not to run is fuel and/or fire. Check the plugs. Pull a wire and ground it to see if it is getting fire. If it is getting fire then its a fuel problem. Anything from a fuel pump, to an ignition fuse. Coils, sensors etc. Fuel or fire.

I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 4x4 2.9 ltr motor, getting gas, getting fire, will not start.

This could be a long list of things. First thing i would check is compression in each cylinder and if that checks out i would move on to the firing order and timing. Just because you get fire and fuel doesnt mean the firing order is right or the timing gears could be off just a few teeth for this to happen. Get back with if none of this works for you .
