SOURCE: head lights not coming on.

The daytime running lights are usually the high beams, running at about 80% intensity. Your outer lights are the low beams. Check your fuse box and make sure you don't have blown fuses for the low beams. If the fuses are OK, check to be sure the bulbs are OK. If they are, I'd suspect either a dead or stuck headlight relay, or a bad lightswitch. Check the fuses and bulbs and post your results, and we can take it from there.

SOURCE: 99 chevy auto lamp problem

Try hitting your dome over ride switch 4 times with the truck running. You should hear a couple of dings and your headlights should shut off. Now hit the switch 4 more times and see if that resets the auto lamp system. If not the next thing I would check is the brake light switch, its under slightly under the dash attached to you brake pedal. Those can slip out of the proper position and cause problems with some of the electrical systems.

2007 Chevy Silverado. Why after sitting three months vehicle has no power to doors or ignition switch, and fails to start with new battery installed?

Check for rodent damage. Do head lights or horn work (no key necessary) ?

If neither the headlights nor the horn are working then the BCM is not functioning. Check BCM fuses (more than one).

I want to know if the headlights on a 1998 Chevy S-10 are supposed to come on when it is started?

They are daytime running lights. If you turn the head lights fully on when it is dark they will be slightly brighter. It's a safety feature.

1999 chevy suberban. it will turn over but wont start, I turn the key to start position no dash lights come on for about 3 to5 seconds the fuel gauge pegs to full then goes to normal position, at that time...

There is a good chance that your ignition keys need to be replaced, you can pick up a replacement ignition lock switch at Auto Zone and they will have the step by step instructions to getting the job done.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck

My hedlights stay on while truck is running during the day.have a sensor on the dash.is there a fuse or do i need to replace the sensor.

Gm's body control module will recognise your request for head lights automatically, if you've already checked drl, next thing to do would be to leave the head light switch on after shutting off the ignition for 10 seconds then shut them off and remove the key, then start it back up to see, you can also do the opposite start the truck, turn on the lights, turn off the lights, turn off the truck and pull the key, start it back up and see,, This procedure may have more to do with the delay security head light feature, but it all ties in together
