Question about 2005 Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

2005 Chevy Impala

It's been over heating like crazy. I was told it might be a thermostat. I just had the system flushed 2 months ago and I thought the problem was fixed. I turned on the car and it is already hot. When it over heated on me yesterday. I opened up the thing where you add water, and antifreeze, and it looked like their was mud inside of it. When it was cool it went back to normal. If anyone has an idea...plz help!

Check the engine oil for a yellow sludge you should see it on the dip stick. If its just oil then it could be your oil cooler leaking oil into the water system.Or the only other thing that would cause this sludge in your water is the head gasket.

Gauge goes back and forth, but it's not hot or over heating...for about 2 months now

Sounds like the thermostat is on its way out. Have it replaced now and have the cooling system flushed before this becomes a major problem.

Chevy impala 2005 3.4 engine. I have code P0753 it says 1-2 shift solenoid. will flushing transmission fix that problem. where are the shift solenoid on that car

code p0753 refers to shift solenoid(SS) A-electrical===causes--wiring--shift solenoid--ECM/TCM
The fault is electrical as it is a solenoid ( an object that has a coil wound around a core in which a bar of steel is magnetically moved when the coil is energized This bar movement moves valves or locks bands or clutches)
Change the solenoid and check out the transmission control module(TCM).
changing the oil will be good for the transmission but will not fix the electrical fault.

Car over heated and thermostat light keeps going on.

Step 1:

When the thermo..do not work, there is an easy way to know...let the car running for at least 10min..turn it off..touch upper and lower hoses...if any of them is hot and the other is cold...thermos..not working.

Step 2:

check if fans activate when it reaches normal temperature, if they dont, replace fan switch at the botton of radiator,or check if the fans are burned.

Step 3:

you can flush the radiator by the usual way,but it will not unclog any cell of radiator...you must send it for service... but before u do it..do the cheap and easy staff...by the way...that car operate with a different cooling system...thats a closed pressured...so changing the cap of the reservoir helps ...since it has some valves that goes broken when is not change...hope it helps...

What is a good product for flushing transmisition

I like Trans Tune from the people at SeaFoam. I used it to clean up the power steering system in a work vehicle.
Read the directions on the bottle for proper use.

Hi. 2005 Impala 3.4. My water pump is failing for the second time in two years. Coolant flushed after first pump installed. Coolant flushed again six months ago. Pump is failing again. Thermostat...

WATER PUMP FAILURE COULD BE CAUSED BY WRONG COOLANT USE DEX COOL ANTI FREEZE.REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND BOTH RADIATOR HOSES TOP HOSE AND BOTTOM HOSE.SOFT HOSES COLAPSE LIKE PUMP HOSE.IT WILL COLAPSE FROM PUMP VACUUM CLOSING OFF SOME COOLANT FLOW.MAKE THE HEATER CORE NOT STOPPED UP IF SO IT WILL RESTRICT WATER PUMP BYPASS CAUSE EARLY PUMP FAILURE.YOU NEED 50/50 COOLANT MIXTURE YOU HALF WATER AND HALF DEX COOL DONT USE GREEN ANTI FREEZE USE ORANGE DEX COOL.I HAVE 3.4L ENGINE AND 3.1L ENGINE BEEN USING DEX COOL ANTI FREEZE SINCE I HAD BOTH VECHICLES. HAD NO WATER PUMP PROBLEMS.

REPLACE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IT IS TOO SOFT WORN OUT CAUSE HOSE TO CLASP.I WOULD REMOVE THERMOSTAT FLUSH ENGINE BLOCK AND RADIATOR COOLANT SYSTEM NEED FLUSHING OUT.

My 2006 chevy impala overheated a month ago & I put antifreeze into the reservoir, it didn't overheat for a month. 1 month later it overheated & cut off. The mechanic changed the thermostat &...

Stopleak can work. But if the mechanic that installed the parts were to use a Radiator pressure tester, he would easily find the leak and fix it correctly. If this leaks after he worked on it, he still has work to finish.

95 Lumina car, 3.1 , poor heat

Did you check the temperature switch to make sure it was actually turning all the way to high or hot and not staying on cold or medium heat? May need a new control inside car dash.
