If you don't even hear the starter click, it's the starter, relay, or battery (turn your headlights on and try to start. if the lights dim a lot, get a new battery). if it clicks but doesn't spin, battery or starter. if it turns over but doesn't start, fuel or spark problem.

This procedure usually works:

  • Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.
  • Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
  • Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.
  • Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

Camry 2002, will not start. Battery OK

Most likely you have a break in the starting circuit. This could involve the ignition switch relay or the starter. Check all connections and try to start it again. You can check to ensure voltage with a test light or volt meter. Hope this helps.

2002 camry starter turns over then starts clicking

Low battery charge/ faulty battery, worn starter motor brushes. Try jump start it with another car. If it starts, replace battery. if not, it's your starter motor.

We turn the key on our 2002 toyota camery 4 cylinder and get nothing it has be dragging when you started it. Battery is good I can't seem to find the starter to replace it

It is next to the transmission cross member on the lower left side of the engine connected to the bell housing. It will have several havy duty wires on it. The starter selenoid is mounted to the side of the starter. .Just follow the battery cables from the battery to the relay and then on to the starter.Under neath on the drivers side.

Where is the starter relay on a 95 toyota camry

The starter relay for this car is under the hood in the fuse compartment. They very rarely go out. If you are having an issue with the car starting, I would check the starter as well.

Intermittent start problem. no starter action, dash tone X 5 when key turned, battery OK, can hear starter relay and fuel pump.

Locate your starter, now take a small hammer, and tap on it. This should free it up. It sounds like the armature on the starter is sticking. If this keeps happening, you'll have to replace it. May or may not be a one time thing. Lincoln town cars are known for this.

When I turn the key on my 2002 toyota camry it does not turn on or do anything, car has good battery, I bougt a starter relay n turned out it still does not turn on, what could the problem be?

did u check the main fuses. these are the 80 & 100 amps fuse found in the hood of your car. if they are blown, it is possible that it was the result of improper battery connection.
