Try this: 1. unplug all cables from back of unit (turn power off as well) 2. while the printer is off hold down the * and 5 3. while holding them turn printer on 4. continue to hold buttons until display reads 'Permanent Storage Init' 5. then release buttons 6. at the end of reset it will ask you to select language and location, just press enter then 1 to confirm Hope that works!! After starting your TomTom , tap the screen . Scroll left or right if needed to find "preferences" . Once in Preferences , look for a 'lips' icon and it should also say underneath " Change Voice". Select that and you should be presented with a selection of voices and languages to choose from.

If you don't know foreing language displayed try follow that to change it to English:
- touch Tool icon
- touch upper left icon
- touch Down arrow 1 time
- touch upper ( of four) line
You'll find 3 buttons on the right Upper/Middle/Lower and 2 on the bottom
Depress Middle one, then using Up/Down arrows select *English and OK
