Check the operation of all door ajar monitor switches.
One of the switches or its associated wiring is causing the problem.

Where is the courtesy light switch in the drivers door on a 1998 Navigator

courtesy light switch , is door ajar switch an it's part of the door lock actuator . Light on coming on ? Not going off ? The ajar switch is a input to the GEM module , fords BCM - body control module . The GEM will energize a relay to turn on the lights .
The GEM will illuminate the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar. The interior lamps are; the dome lamp, the rear cargo lamp, the door courtesy lamp and the side rail lamps. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received.
The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay.
Mite be a good idea to have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

The driver side rear door has to be slammed shut to shut off the door ajar light on our 1998 Plymouth voyager.

try giving the door switch a good swill with WD40 its just a bit sticky, if you can get it out that would be the best way to clean it and to reset it up so its pushed in a bit more by the door stop

When driving the vehicle the interior lights flash on and off the power locks flutter and the door ajar chimes.

Check the rear lift gate switch. Or it could be that one of the doors or the rear lift gate is out of adjustment and not closing tightly. Try closing all doors and lift gate then from the outside push in on the doors and see if they go in. If it is the doors , when you push on the one that is causing the problem the door ajar chime will stop .

2000 Plymouth Voyager Interior lights and lock problem

Just for the sake of trying a no cost repair, take some steel wool and rub clean, the contacts at your sliding door. They are little round plates, that match up with little buttons. Scuff them clean with the steel wool. Then spray the buttons (round black plastic) on your other door posts with WD-40 or similar spray, and work them in & out by pushing with your thumb. It may or may not cure your problem, but it's free & has been know to cure the problem, if not, get back to us.

Door ajar light still on which leaves interior lights constantly

This is usually caused by the switches sticking in the door latches. Try spraying some WD40 in the latches and open and close the doors a bunch of times that should take care of it.
