Many people dont realize how fragile spark wires are you need to check each wire for proper resistance even new ones and check the plugs for length of protrusion into the head.

If it was running ok before, it almost has to be something you did. Look around for something you might have accidentally dislodged. Recheck the wires. Counting from the front of the car the the coils are 145236. The front plugs counting from the passenger side are 135 the rear plugs are 246.

Why want it start

if its not getting any fuel, check the fuel pump relay. make sure you have spark also. to check for spark, put plug wire next to a metal part on engine then turn it over. if its firing you will see the spark jump from wire to ground on engine. Good-Day! Check all the fuses in the fuse relay box on the driver's side fender well. Replace any blown fuses and try starting the car. Good-Day!

97 century turns over but won't start

If it is 3.1 engine, I would guess it to be Ignition (Spark) Control Module located under the coil packs.(coil packs bolt/screw directly onto the Module itself)
Best of luck !

Changed the heater core on a 1993 buick century and now it wont start

I need Moe info. Does it turn over? Does it try to start, but just not for? The core is in close proximity to some wiring that is essential to the start sequence and if cut or otherwise disconnected would allow the engine to turn over but not fire.

Check a few things, check your spark plugs, spark plug wires, also check your fuel filter, fuel pump, but the first thing that you should check is the ground wire from your battery to the engine block

How to replace 1997 buick inition coil

I just did one the other day. There are three coils. You can determine which one is bad by using the number one spark plug wire and an old spark plug. Put the spark plug in the wire ( while it is still in the coil) and ground the plug against the engine block. Make sure it is grounded solidly to metal or you could get a nasty shock. Have someone start the engine. Look at the spark. It should be fat and blue. Turn the engine off as soon as you have seen the quality of the spark. Pull one of the wires from each coil in sequence and move the number one wire to that coil. Proceed as above. The weak coil(s) will have intermittent spark, yellow spark or maybe none at all. Once you know which coil(s) are bad remove the two small screws at the ends of the coil. They hold the coil down. Pick the coil straight up, pulling the contacts out of the ignition module. Set the new coil in place and screw it down. Both towers spark every time the coil fires so reinstall the wires in either spot on a given coil. Good Luck
