This sounds like an issue with the blend doors or the A/C control head. Check out the blend door motor to see if it is properly shutting the doors off to the engine compartment. The reason the passenger side is cooler is because it is located next to the evaporator, so the cool air has a shorter distance to travel into the car. The A/C control head is a big problem with RX-8's. Hope this helps.

Where is the expansion valve located on the 2004 KIA Sedona

Kia Sedona expansion FRONT valve located under dash, behind glove box, fan and coil. Evacuate freon first. Disconnect Freon lines from firewall., Lay right front seat back to flat horizontal position and lay on top or totally remove the seat for easier working access. Remove under dash cover, fan, glove box, coil housing, remove coil mounting bolts, remove old expansion valve. (Inspect old valve, if debris inside, blow out coil before installing new valve. If visible debris best to consider replacing REAR expansion valve and DRIER/FILTER in front of radiator too and blow out all lines and coils while servicing.) Use compressor oil to lubricate "O" rings on new FRONT or REAR expansion valve, install valve bolts, reinstall coil bolts to FRONT firewall or REAR frame, reconnect freon lines to firewall in engine compartment. Evacuate AC system, install freon (35 1/2 ounces, nominal 3 pounds), check system for leaks, check for proper operation, enjoy.

There is a valve that stops hot coolant from entering the heater box. It is probably stuck open. murf427

91honda prelude ac pressures good, no cooling

Sounds like low charge or poss defective AC compressor or the expansive valve has moisture in it. Did you pull a vacuum on the system for 45 minutes before adding refrigerant?

I am looking to convert the AC over to 134a. I have heard that the oil, the dryer and the expansive valve need to be replaced and then the system vacuumed out. where are the expansion valve and the dryer...

Look for the expansion valve where two of the AC lines connect together, usually near the radiator and the lines may be slightly different diameters, the larger one contains the valve. It is also VERY important to flush ALL of the old oil out of the system. Do this with an AC flush kit and all parts removed. Concentrate on the condensor and the evaporator after the hoses are flushed. Coat all 'o"rings and seals with AC oil when reassembling and be careful, leaks can happen and will be costly. Install 1/3 of system oil capacity in compressor and TURN the compressor by HAND after hoses are installed to it. OIL DOES NOT COMPRESS!! You may want to have a shop evacuate the system when ready.

Air conditioner was making a noise, smoke then came out from hood. Now I have a rattling noise

The ac compressor is shot,it has locked up,replacement of the compressor and it`s components is a must to repair the ac system, dryer, and expansion valve will have to be replaced, and the system flushed out to prevent the new system from being contaminated .If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

2001 Chevy Suburban rear a/c warm front ice cold

I believe there is a expansion valve located on the back part of the air conditioner on the back right side i believe that could be the problem. I think if I am understanding you correctly, your back air is not as cool as it should be or not cold at all. Might want to check this. If I am not understanding you correctly please let me know again what your problem is.

Ac blows warm air, wont hold freon

If they are going to replace the clogged hoses, expansion valve, compressor, vacuum out system, and charge system then yes that is a good price.

Did you replace the 'expansion valve'. If the expansion valve is full of **** no coolant will get through to cool.
