Change the plugs first they are the cheapest, then the wires then the coil would be my suggestion.

My 2004 chevy trailblazer is missing badly. Had them read the code for me at auto zone and it said I had a miss fire on the number one cylinder. I changed the plugs and it is still missing badly

Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression.
Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.

Causes for a cylinder misfire include. Bad spark plug, bad spark plug wire, bad coil ( or coil pack) if no wires, Bad fuel injector..I would start in the order I listed.

You may get one bad spark plug in 50 years of driving

Does that answer your question?

You did not diagnose your problem, which
was a misfire.

Do you have codes PO301 thru PO306?

After motor warms up it starts to miss, mph has gone from 28 to 20. Computer does not code. 1990 chevy lumna 3.1 motor

If the car has a miss in an OBD-I era vehicle, take the car to a technician who can test which cylinder is missing and whether it is due to lack of spark (like a wire, or plug, or coil) or a bad fuel injector (not firing, or clogged at the cylinder in question, or a computer).

Both conditions on OBD-I era vehicles may not trigger a code.

Good luck on this repair.

Cyl. 3 miss fire code po303

my money would be on the coil cover, especially if it had been a long time since the last tune up. it is certainly worth trying, as this is part of a routine tune up anyways. good luck!

I have a 1998 Dodge Neon. One of the coils is not firing of the two, Don't know whether it's the crankshaft or computer. What's a good way to test for either?

replace the non firing coil, very common. also replace the spark plugs and wires. I dont have a wiring diagram here at home to verify which wires are which, but if one coil is firing, they both have power.

92' Cavalier 2.2L 4 cyl. runs but has a miss coming from #4 cyl.

Matter not whether plug fires out of engine. Put it back in and clamp a timing ligh to it. If the light won't fire, you don't have enough spark to fire cylinder, hense miss.

Engine miss fire

If this is a truck with The coil on Plug setup, I would suggest replacing the #7 ignition coil and the plug.
