How dirty is your filter? Or something may be wrong with your fuel pressure regulator. Check for fuel to filter, then fuel to fuel injection system, and if it is getting there just not spraying fuel it may be your ignition module.

The gas cap would not unscrew so I used pliers and broke the top of the cap off. How do I remove rest of the cap from the filler neck?

Did you change the fuel filter? it could be cloged. also if the fuel preasure regulator is bad than fuel will not be able to get by hence no fuel will reach the injectors

Trouble starting my 2002 toyota echo I turn the key, hear the i believe fuel pump come on but then nothing. Sometimes it fires right but when i turn it off after running it won't restart

When it doesn't start after shutting it off can you still hear the fuel pump come on? The best way to tell is to take the gas cap off and put your ear next to the filler neck while someone turns the key to the on position. If you don't hear it, it may be time for a new one.

No fuel up to injecter pump truck just stalled

Did you check for fuel pressure on the line from the tank while you had the filter off? Do you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? First I would listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the run position (not starting the engine) May have to get a helper and listen at the gas filler neck with the cap off. If you dont hear your fuel pump, check your fuses and relays. If the relay clicks when your helper turns the key on ( put your finger on the relay and ear down close to feel/hear the relay actuate)., and fuse is good, yet you do not hear the pump prime, I would say your fuel pump is shot.

If it is a diesel, check for fuel pressure coming off the direct drive pump hose while cranking the motor.

Is there a fuel pump relay and where is it at if so think the fuel pump is bad will turn over but not fire

The fuel pump relay is located behind the glove box. First you need to see if the fuel pump is actually running. Open the fuel filler door and remove the fuel cap. Have someone turn on the ignition key without trying to start the engine. Put your ear close the the filler neck and listen carefully. You should hear the fuel pump hum for a few seconds and then shut off. If not then check the fuse first. If it is good check the relay. If both are good then the pump needs replacing.

How do I replace the Fuel Pump?

The fuel pump is located in your fuel tank...you have to drop your fuel tank to replace it...before you do so you will have to sifion [sp] most of the gas out as gas is heavy...when you get out all you can leave the gas cap off and remove the bolts holding the filler neck in place...Then jack up vehicle and place on jack stands....Remove battery ground cable,go under and remove sheild covering fuel tank, while there remove the ground strap attached to the filler neck...Once the cover is off this will expose the 2 tank holding straps.....at this point you will need a jack or holding and lowering devise to support the gas tank..... make sure it is supported well before you loosen the strap bolts!!!! disconnect the EVap hose from canister it runs to tank then remove the strap bolts ...move them aside and lower the tank enough to expose the top where the fuel lines are disconnect them and the electrical connector, ground ...then lower gas tank slowly checking nothing is still hooked to it ...After the tank is down remove it from under vehicle and use a BRASS punch or piece of wood not a regular metal punch to remove the pump retaining ring ...once ring is removed CAREFULLY remove the pump from the tank.....replace pump and new strainer... Then Carefully put the pump back in the tank...if needed replace the ring seal before you place the pump back in...tighten up the retaining ring ....take back to car and put on supporting devise and lift just high enough to reattach all your connectors...then jack up the rest off the way attach holdings straps ,cover, ground ******** filler neck, filler neck bolts, battery cable install gas cap and start hopfully

How do you no if a fuel pump is bad

u have no fuel pressure to the injectors and in most cases no fault codes are set by the electronic control unit, also u should hear a faint whirling/humming nose for 1 second when the key is turned to run, u can hear this best by listening at the gas tank filler neck with the gas cap removed, if not the electric in tank fuel pump is almost always the problem.

1997 Safari will not start unless carb cleaner sprayed in air intake. runs after this. Confirm spark and motor rotation.

Have your fuel pressure checked.Sounds like pump or relay is out or fuel filter restricted too much.Remove the gas cap and put your ear to filler neck while someone turn's the key on,you should hear the pump running.pump run's for about 8 second's to prime fuel rail then shut's off till cranking.

Ran out of gas car wont start

first make sure theirs enough gas in the car now, about 5 gallons. next open the gas door, then the cap. next put your ear to the open fule filler neck. then have someone put the key in the "on" position so teh dash lights up and all, but dont start. this should trigger the pump to start, if you can hear a buzz then the pumps on and working, if not the pump is dead.if this is the case just be sure by checking the fuses to confirm. only way to get to the pump is drop the tank. also dropping the rear exhaust helps too.
