Dont pull the dash out, i had exacly the same problem and pulling the dash out is too risky and complicated, 1)just take out the glove box,2) with a very small 5.5mm cube take out the screws holding the blend door motor it only has about 3-4 screws, its a very tight fit but it posible,3) once out put in the new one, or get one from the junkyard (much cheaper). hope this helped

Just bought a 99 jeep cherokee, the heater controls sweem to be messed up. when the fan is on hot air comes from the passenger side of the car at the glove box vents, the drivers side blows cold air. ...

automatic climate control with dual controls?

Sounds like a broken drivers side blend door. Very common problem. Jeep has a repair kit that includes a new metal blend door and instructions on how to cut out an access in the HVAC housing. The kit also includes a new passenger blend door. If you want to replace both you',, need to pull the entire dash and then the HVAC housing which is a much better but more time consuming way of doing it. Pulling the housing is a huge job!

My 2000 blazer climate control goes hot for a minute than cold for a minute then back to hot again. What is the problem? I have changed the climate control module in the dash with two differant modules but...

I have a 1999 Blazer with climate contol with the same problem. The blended air door is behind the glovebox has a broken gear inside. You have two choices based on how much money you have. The first thing to do is pull the module out and see if the hot/cold vent door is working. The work area behind the glovebox is tight but it is manageable. I have big hands and I was able to pull mine out. You will nned a 3/8 short socket and thumb drive to turn the screws (2) screws. After I got the module out I flipped the door open to cold and placed a needle nosed vise grps to hold the door to the cold side. The door will flip back to hot if you don't secure the flap. A new one cost about $180.00 just for the part.

04 Chevy Silverado. Dual climate control is blowing cold on driver's side and hot on passenger.

with truck off, move passenger to full hot and driver's to full cold. turn key on and run air for 15 seconds.

turn key off

move climate controls to opposite positions and turn key on again with air on. Run for 15 seconds. turn key off.

center temp controls and turn key on again. this should fix you.

Hot air comes out the passenger side when air condirioning is on.

The control module or actuator is most likely the cause. You can manually set it for cold air until winter. Actuator is under the dash right by the blower.

No heat

Check the hoses that go through the firewall into the heater core to see if they are hot. If they aren't you may have air pockets that need to be bled out of your coolant system. If they are hot, you may have a bad vacuum supply to your blend doors. You should have a vacuum supply hose under the dash toward the center. If you have a good supply, you probably need to tear down and inspect the ductwork and boxes.
