Hello, I am not seeing all your twoway info, but you had these problems before the drive axles were replaced? And the motor mounts were replaced at the same time? I was wondering if these two repairs were to be the solution to the problem or the start of the problems. You have 2 other wheels with moving parts. Although if you can switch from 2 to 4 wheel drive you should notice a change in the vibration. You might try putting on the spare to rule out a tire problem. I had an entire frontend replaced under warranty, drove home disgusted when it still vibrated, and then put on the spare tire and fixed my problem.Hello, I am not seeing all your twoway info, but you had these problems before the drive axles were replaced? is this an extended cab ,4wd,automatic or manual transmission ,,studdering can be anything from needing a tune up --tires balanced -motor mount-suspension- c/v axle --u-joints torque converter-rear -transmission clutch-4wd components etc
Do a test with tranny in drive instead of OD/over-drive, does the problem go away? If so I think it is an OD issue.
Check motor mounts and suspension. In the past, I've seen bad shocks cause a noticeable vibration at a certain speed. Below or above that certain speed, no vibration.
Motor Mounts
Transaxle Mounts
Front CV Drive Axles
Loose or Worn Front Suspension Parts
Steering Rack Mounts
Steering Rack Inner Tie Rods
Top Bearing Plates on Struts
Do Some Front Brake Work
Without driving the vehicle, it is hard to say for sure. However, there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that is published by Honda that involves your transmission limiter tabs (part of the rear transmission mount) causing a vibration while accelerating.
The TSB number is 04-070. I can send you a complete copy of the TSB if you want to post an email address. Or you can also probably get your local dealer to print you out a copy if you don't want your email address posted online. (recommended)
This is your one of your axels.. they are damaged inside.. Get them removed asap it can cause major damage if it brakes loose..each axle costs about $90-100
I just replaced both cv axels one solved 80% of the problem and the other solved the rest. I wasted alot of time and money on new tires, balancing 3 times and an alignment. I should have just taken it to the transmission shop that I trust.
Shuddering is a good sign of bad axle joints. You can look at the axle boots yourself, if they are ripped, they should be replaced. If you hear clunking or feel shuddering or wobbling, then axle will need to be replaced.
