Question about 2004 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Radio is constantly losing power and has to be reset with code. Also at night headlights will flicker. Both seem to be related to Ac cycling.

I think you have a bad battery connection.Check them and make sure they are tight and clean.

When driving at night I turn on the headlights after 5 minutes it start flickering off and on

You most likely have a bad headlight relay or a bad headlight switch.

The digital readout on my dashboard dims during the day. They don't flicker and at night it seems fine. I have a 2002 Mercedes c320

The problem probable is a short to ground on one of ur circuits. when u drive at night u have ur headlights on which forces the alternator to produce more electricity. making it seem normal. or a defective alternator

Lights flicker

When my headlights started to flicker at night, I soon found out it was the battery. It died one night sitting in a friend's driveway with the radio and headlights on. My battery was over 5 years old at the time, and the tow truck driver said I was lucky to have it work that long. I purchased a new battery and the lights no longer flicker at night. Just a suggestion. Hope this helps you.

About 3 weeks ago a friend had to disconnect the battery to change the head light bulb. After reconnecting the battery, I know longer had use of the radio. If I try to turn on the radio power it states...

the radio is an anti-theft type and needs a code to reset after losing power. The code is usually in the paper-work obtained when the car was purchased. the code is 5-6 digits long and is on a plastic card with the radio serial number.

the oil life message will continue to show until it is reset. With key off, hold the trip odometer reset button down. now, while still holding it down turn the key to on but don't start. Count to 20. The oil life message should be out and reset.

tires rubbing. could be a plastic trim piece in the fender well area has come loose from when the headlight bulb was replaced. Look under there and see if you can spot where the tire is rubbing. Turn the wheel one way all the way and check, then the other way and check.

HEADLIGHTS ARE FLICKERING WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ALSO ONE FOG LAMP IS OUT ON THE PASSENGER FRONT IS THIS RELATED OR DO I HAVE A RELAY OR HEADLIGHT SWITCH GOING OUT

right and left front fog lights do not have separate circuits, so that is a bulb or wiring issue.

Flickering is more likely the relay than the switch. Do the high beams flicker? They are on a different relay. I will paste the diagram, but the resolution will be poor :o(

'98 Ford Explorer Sport - 1) Heat/AC only runs on the highest setting. 2)When the Heat/AC is turned on the compressor cycles on and off. When it cycles on the idle drops almost shuts the engine off if I...

1)sensor in your setting switch is bad
2)low C fluid in your system will cause the compressor to constantly cycle on & off
3)related to #2 and if it's been doing it for awhile you will need to replace the compressor....(used one at local junkyard sells for about 50 bucks)
4)clock light would simply be a worn or weak display. Only solution would be to replace it or better still, ignore it.

The battery light is flickering on and off on the dash. I put a new battery in and had my alternator checked out(its prefect) When driving at night my headlights dim and brighten. What could this be?

The regulator in the alternator is most likely the problem.
The alternator could be charging.......just not correctly....... the flickering headlights are showing a varying voltage.......and with the charging light flickering too..........99% chance you need a complete rebuilt alternator.

2000 Cavalier engine dies and smokes ours from under hood

Was it using oil or did you have to add antifreeze occasionally? It sounds like it either got hot and you cooked the engine, or it ran out of oil and you cooked the engine.
