I began to have issues with my '05 Hummer H2 a few weeks ago.....

P0496 = "Evaporative emission system high purge flow"

At the dealership, we get a lot of complaints like yours and they all started with running too low on fuel or running out.

Start with replacing the fuel filter and get back to me.

Running low/out tends to suck up micro trash from the bottom of the gas tank and that gunk clogs the fuel filter.

2008 h2 won't start

Most overlooked cause for this concern is an extremely dirty factory (not aftermarket) air filter. Remove the factory air filter and blow out the debris still inside the box so the engine doesn't **** it in. Make sure all the air box tube clamps are tight and the MAF sensor is still plugged in good. Then try to start it without the air filter in. If it still does the same thing, unplug the MAF sensor and try to restart. If it starts only after the MAF was unplugged then you need a MAF sensor. Check these things and let me know what happens.
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

if gas engine could be as simple as air and or fuel filter to possibly a melted catalitic converter, if diesel , start with fuel filter and air filter

Not running smooth 90,000

Sounds like you need a tuneup. Change the plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, and air filter.
These are the most likely causes, if the problem still exists then you will want to check the fuel pressure at the rail, and make sure all vacuum line are in good shape.
