After having the usual overheating problem with my Malibu (the intake gasket was warped from Dextron II rad fluid) a week later the overheat continued but would suddenly dissipate while driving. I'd attempt to alleviate the high temp by turning on the heat and putting the blower on the max setting only to find that I'd only get cool air. I am wondering is this a air exchange problem or something different with the radiator or a control module.

- All hoses are hot and while running I opened the bleeder valve enough that it spit some fluid but it is still overheating. Fans work, everything else appears fine and when I open the reservoir, the fluid isn't bubbling but sitting stagnant. I was thinking radioator next.

IF YOUR INTAKE WAS REPAIRED,SOUNDS LIKE AIR IN COOLING SYSTEM..WOULD EXPLAIN NO HEAT..MAY HAVE NOT BEEN BLED PROPERLY..IF NOT REPAIRED,LOW COOLANT LEVEL WOULD EXPLAIN NO HEAT..AIR IN SYSTEM..IF COOLANT LEVEL IS OK,CHECK ALL RAD HOSES,HEATER HOSES,TUBES TO SEE ALL ARE HOT WHEN ENGINE IS AT OPERATING TEMP..IF THEY ARE,POSSIBLE AIR DISTRIBUTION PROBLEM WITH HEATER,BUT MOST LIKELY AIR IN SYSTEM..
