i have a 1987 mercruiser alpha one out drive the boat sat for 5or 6 years engine turns over but no spark also had water in the cylinders drained the oil filled the cylinders with mystery oil let it sit for a few days cranked the engine a few times drained the oil again new oil new fuel new oil filter but cant get a spark from the coil

after cranking it now, do you see any water in the oil? take an assistant, and a new spark plug to the boat with you, take one wire off the plug in the motor and put the new plug in the wire. Hold the plug against a grounded item ( somewhere on the motor) have your assistant crank the boat and see if you have a visible spark. If you have tested this already you may need to replace the coil itself.
