I have the same car I had the same problem. If you have the correct battery for your car with the same problem you have a short or positive ground in your dash/electric fuel pump/fuse box also be carefull of how you take the key from the ignition and if they're old replace them.

In the Trunck/Boot on the right hand side. Lift up black plastic tray and it is under there.

Will my instrument cluster. Stop my car from. Running

My instrument cluster kicks out from time to time (Plymouth Voyager). It doesn't stop my car from running, but it is a major annoyance. I disconnect the battery for an hour, and the problem goes away -- temporarily (sometimes for months).

I have a BMW 325ci 2003 and every time I start the car the clock, mpg, etc re-set... what is it? The battery was replaced 2 months ago... Also, I noticed that if I turn the car off too fast, gas,...

You may need to look at... your system voltage then check the voltage regulator in the alternator or the ignition control switch.

There is also a circuit in the cluster that controls memory... check fuse #43 if its good try leaving it out overnite to see if it helps reset the computer... if not then see above.

Hello I am having what sounds like a common thing but I can't be sure. The instrument panel has been intermentant for about for about 8 months now. Sometimes works for a day or three weeks. I am now unable...

sounds like you need to have the alternator checked, if it were the instrument cluster the van would still run, you may still have a problem with the cluster, but the running 2 miles and the battery going dead is the charging system, you may have two problems. fix the charging system first then worry about the dash.

I have just replaced the Alternator on my 2002 BMW 318i. and now when I turn the engine over it just clicks.

Need to charge battery for at least an hour or 2, with a good battery charger. I am sure battery is discharged because of bad alternator.

Lights are dimming, gauges are zeroing out while i'm driving. Could this be my alternator? Because car has new battery and starter.

If your battery is charge indicator light does not come on and battery is holding charge after a couple days of driving it is unlikely your alternator is faulty.
If the lights are dimming on youe meter cluster only, it could be a bad connector to the meter cluster.
If your head light are dimming it could be a bad battery connection or the alternator.

The alternator isn't charging the battery

try this add an extra braided ground strap
i assuming you have all ready tested the out put of new alternator?? NEW doesn't mean it works .
assuming you done filed and diide continuity
checked and the polarity of alt,bat and regulator are all the same you added extra ground strap from block to fire wall. battery checks out. still no charge.get a new battery with more cold cranking amps.
