Hi Sound like the regulator in the alternator is on its way out and it is not re-charging the battery as it should. Time to visit ur local auto electrician for confirmation.

no.
first check fuses.
then jumper cable start it.
if jumpers work, then the battery is bad, discharged only or the alternator is dead, or there is phantom drains on battery.
there is an order to diagnosis.
see?
battery cable lugs not rusty, is first. clean them and win.?
if that is not it ,jumper cable starts work
as does barrowing a known good battery from another car works too.
do not assume starters are bad first. unless, long labor for nothing is fun.
is the battery voltage at 12.6vdc rested, ($20 meter tool)
if why low battery is dead or just drained, so charge it.
are headlights bright with key on, and heater blower on max?

The solenoid click sounds very strong, implying that you have a charged battery and the ignition circuit is functioning out to the solenoid. Suspect an issue with the starter motor. Is the starter motor installed and connected properly?

My 1997 Chevy Lumina will not turn on. I thought it was the starter since it started having difficulties turning on. The security light on the dash is permanently on. So i replaced the starter and tested...

REPLACE BATTERY CABLES THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE COULD BE SHORTING TO GROUND.REPLACE STARTER SOLENOID IF NOT BEEN REPLACED.BESURE TO PLACE BACK FLEXIBLE CONDUIT THAT GOES AROUND POSITIVE BATTERY KEEP FROM SHORTING TO GROUND. LAST TIME I SEEN BATTERY CABLES OVER HEAT WAS EITHER STARTER AND SOLENOID SHORTING OUT OR VERY LOOSE BATTERY CABLES CONNECTIONS. REPLACE BATTERY CABLES IF THEY ARE MELTED HAVE STARTER CHECKED OUT YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY STARTER STILL.

Having electrical starter problems. Have replaced

when the problem occurs, take a test light and see if you have power to the starter solenoid. if you do, you have a defective starter. most starters are rebuilt, not new and there are always clunkers. good luck

Not starting or turning over jst click stil have electrics tho

You can bench test a starter. But be warned it jumps when the jumper cables are applied.
Take and put the nut from the battery cable connection back on. Put the Positive battery lead of the jumper cable on that. Hook up the jumper cables to a good battery. Touch the negative battery cable to the mounting housing of the starter. A quick touch is all you need to do. If the starter is good it will will shoot out the starter drive gear and spin freely. The starter will jump and twist.

Starter problem- How do I check to see if the starter needs replaced?

check to see if your getting power from the battery to the starter and check the ignition signal wire while some one turns the key if your getting power there and the starter don't engage then the starter needs to be replaced also while someone trys to start it tap on the starter and see if you get a response but if your getting power to it and it don't work it's bad

2000 elantra starter clicks but will not turn

Firstly - check that your battery is fully charged. Then check the earth (negative) cable connections and make sure they are 100% clean and making contact. Then check the connections to the starter motor - are they tight, clean and making contact? If all is in order then it sounds as if the starter motor needs replacing or overhauling. Because you can hear a click means that it's likely that the solenoid is working ok but there is a dead spot on the commutator. As a final check, get a friend to turn the ignition switch fully clockwise while you tap the body (not the solenoid) of the starter with a hammer. If the starter turns the engine over then you need a replacement/overhaul.
