Fuel pump control module problem .

Verify that the FPCM is programmed correctly. If this DTC is still retrieved as current, replace the FPCM.

Your best bet , a GM dealer . new module needs programming .

    Circuit/System Description
This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the engine control module (ECM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) system. This diagnostic also addresses if the ECM is not programmed.

The ECM monitors its ability to read and write to the memory. It also monitors a timing function. The ECM and the TAC processors are used to monitor the TAC system data. Both processors monitor the other processors data to verify that the indicated APP calculation is correct. The ECM performs an intrusive test in order to confirm that the APP signals are not shorted together. The ECM accomplishes this by pulling the APP sensor 2 low momentarily and looking for sensor 1 to also be pulled low.

    Electronic Returnless Fuel System (ERFS)
The electronic returnless fuel system is a microprocessor controlled fuel delivery system which transports fuel from the tank to the fuel rail. It functions as an electronic replacement for a traditional, mechanical fuel pressure regulator. A pressure vent valve within the fuel tank provides an added measure of over pressure protection. Desired fuel pressure is commanded by the engine control module (ECM), and transmitted to the fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) via a GMLAN serial data message. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides the feedback the FPCM requires for Closed Loop fuel pressure control.

Fuel Pump Flow Control Module (FPCM)
The fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) is a serviceable GMLAN module. The FPCM receives the desired fuel pressure message from the engine control module (ECM) and controls the fuel pump located within the fuel tank to achieve the desired fuel pressure. The FPCM sends a 25 KHZ PWM signal to the fuel pump, and pump speed is changed by varying the duty cycle of this signal. Maximum current supplied to the fuel pump is 15 amps. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides fuel pressure feedback to the FPCM.

SOURCE: looking for a part for my nissan maxima 2008

This Body control module (known as a BCM) was 1st used on the 2007 Maxima, as far as programming it for your car only the dealer has the special programming equipment (nissan scanner and sofware) to do this job, as to the part it has only been used since Sept of 2007, so no aftermarket re-builders have it yet, (rebuilt modules is all that is avil for any car in the aftermarket) I have a huge collection of web sites for these kinds of parts (cdontrol modules) and there are no rebuilt BCM's aviliable for your car as of yet, it is to new, the lowest price I could find was $265.58 at this link, I don't recommend using a used part.

2008 Saturn Vue about 36,000 miles, the engine icon light is on. What does this mean? I am over due for an oil change. Is it that simple or is it something else?

It could be anything. Take the vehicle to Auto Zone and ask them to connect a code reader to the vehicle. That will tell you what the fault is. The most common issue is the Oxygen Sensor.
