Question about Volkswagen Jetta

2 Answers

My 2002 VW Jetta GLX VR6 is acting weird. My odometer stop working and all my electronics were like if they had no power. Then when i turned the engine off at home the radio was sitll on and when i tried to start the engine again it wouldn't start. We check the battery and alternator and they are fine. What can be causing this problem?

I have a 2000 vw jetta glx with the vr6 that needs the timing chain replaced there is an upper and lower one. So I was hoping at minimum that someone could post a link to a complete walkthrough along with...

The Jetta vr6 has a timing chain. These don't have to be replaced unless the gear is worn. When worn they will jump timing by a tooth or two. This will cause the engine to run rough. Vw jetta glx vr6 key turns in ignition, but nothing happens

The first thing I would check is the starter motor fuse and relay, but the lights staying on is weird. Perhaps the ignition key switch is defective. That could be caused by many things including wear and tear / moisture / insects, especially if the car is old and you are living in a warm and humid climate.

2002 vw jetta vr6 no start no crank, but able to pop start

Start by checking the switch above the clutch pedal ... I have seen where they come loose, brake or move and when you push in the clutch it doesn't engage the safety switch all the way.

2000 VW Jetta VR6 My check engine light started flashing. My car was idleing very rough and missing. The parts store checked and the code showed misfire 1. We replaced the spark plugs. It runs a little...

You may have a bad coil pack - try moving two of them around and see if the misfire follows the coil pack or stays at the same cylinder. If it follows the coil pack, get a new one. If it stays in the same cylinder, inspect your spark plug wires and make sure the plug is gapped correctly.
