It is most likely a bad knock sensor location. You can sometimes find repositioning kits for the sensors because they tend to be too senitive. It is usually on the back under or on intake manifold by fuel rails

Loud Knocking noise coming the top of the engine

possible but I would suggest a compression test to check for loose valve seat insert. They can come loose and follow the valve up and down and cause loud knocking noises and faulty engine operation.

Have 1995 dodge dakota 3.9 wont start

yup, the check engine light should come on for a bulb check. If it does not than the PCM is either not getting all the power/grounds it needs or it is bad.

if you reply to this in the comments below i can get you a lot more info on how to proceed further. you will need a volt meter and a test light and understand how to use them.

Check engine light on but no codes

The check engine light will come on when the ECM detects knock, it will only stay on if excessive knock is detected. I would replace the fuel filter and check your fuel pressure.
Could also be a bad knock sensor as the ECM will also advance the timing to make the engine knock. If on knock is detected when the ECM is doing this it will light the check engine light.

Check engine ligt comes on with traction light car bucks and stalls seems like engine is hot but fan not kicking on

When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

Does it lack power and hesitate sometimes? Have you replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor anytime in the past? Has the catalytic converter been replaced anytime in the past? Fuel filter? Air filter? Check for leaks at vaccuum lines? Repost with answers, we can see if we can determine a possible cause other than those and what you have stated you replaced already. thanks, Mike

If the check engine light stayed off then that means that those errors are not present at this time. It is not un common to have intermittent faults but I would not preced any further until the light comes back on. Then re-scan the code see which are to begin diagnostics.

The check engine light should be on--rent a scanner, read out the codes, and pursue to repairs. The one sensor you didn't mention is the camshaft sensor. It is a hall effect device and depends on a magnet passing to generate triggers. It is combined with the crankshaft sensor and they work in tandem with the CPU to generate firing. Maybe the magnet came off of the camshaft? If you have access to an oscilloscope, you could look for pulses from both sensors where they go into the ignition module--terminal 'G' for the crank, and terminal 'K' for the cam signal.
