Location of a starter relay for a 2001 pontiac sunfire so we can replace it.

    Hi there I Did Not Think So But I Looked it up Anywats, There Is NO Starter RELAY on This Vehicle, Please Discribe to Me EXACTLY What it Is / Is NOT Doing and I Will Be Happy to Help Find Any Problems.

    The car will not turn over when it below 40 degrees the battery is new and I replaced the starter switch . When it above forty is starts just fine

You might want to have it checked to see if you have fuel pressure or see if there is spark going thru to your spark plug.If everything is ok it might be your timing belt needs replacing

Yes, it could be the Neutral safety switch. Try popping the clutch a few times. Push it in and let it pop out and make sure you have it in Neutral. Also, try jumping the vehicle. It is possible to have all the volts in the world and everything looks good but not have enough amperage in the battery due to a dead cell to crank the motor over.

if you had the starter recall done, there is a relay mounted near the center of the radiator that controls start power. Pontiac dealer sells the part.

Need to know what gauge of wire goes from starter relay to the starter on my 2001 sunfire?? Need to rebuild fusable link!!


You would need to use at least 4 guage, but if you go to your local parts store and buy battery wire they typically come in one standard size. Thanks

2001 Sunfire Instrument cluster


No relay . Two fuse's . CLSTR 10 amp & BCM/CLU 10 amp . Both are located in the instrument panel fuse box . Maybe we can save you some trouble , what is the problem your have ? Gauges not working ?

the 2001 pontiac sunfire has a very common electrical problem right off the line....nothing is done right.....check the wire for the starter relay and if they are ok check the starter solinoid itself if its the same problem if you go to tighen the terminals they will bust off from voltage arking inside
