1994 Pontiac Bonneville - No pressure at the fuel rail

There was a hole in my gas tank, I patched it up suspecting that was the reason why the there was no fuel going to my engine. I then looked under ther hood and saw that the hose to the pressure regulator was disconnnected, I thought for sure that it would solve my issue, but to no avail. i still am not getting pressure or fuel, but it sounds like the fuel pump turns on when I turn the key, so I'm thinking maybe the filter?

I took off the fuel filter, and turned the key, and fuel came through. I bought a new fuel filter and checked the air lines and she crunk right up, thanks, I guess a good fuel filter really makes a difference.

A defective pump will run but not pump too. The impellers have sheared off.

Car will not start no gas coming out of fuel rail

check for power to the fuel pump and pump operation. check filter condition. check for fuel in the tank (do not rely on the gauge) check for proper venting of the fuel tank as pumps will not pump if there is a vacuum in the tank

94 bonneville dies if not spraying starting fluid in throttle body

if it only runs when your spraying fluid into it then you have a fuel pump problem that will have to be checked out.check to see if you can hear the pump run when trying to start the car at the fuel tank or by removing the gas cap and listening in the filler tube you should hear a humming noise.then while someone is trying to start the car hit the gas tank with something but not so hard you dent it if it starts then the pump will need replacing.the fuel pump is located in the gas tank.

We just had a major storm i think maybe moister got in gas tank i was wondering if a can of dry gas would work

they have additives that remove water from fuel,, however that depends on how much water your talking about, if your sure this is the problem,, I'd drain the tank, and start new if you suspect a bunch of water got in,, you might also check the distributor cap for moisture in there, that causes missing and bad running also

How much work is involved in cleaning the fuel injectors on a 1997 Bonneville?

you can buy cans that you put into the gas tank when you fill up(one can each fill up)but this take along time to do its job if it can,the only real way to clean injectors is with a fuel injection cleaning machine that also cleans the fuel rail were some dirt gets caught.these machines connect to the fuel rail and pressurize the system while the car is running in a bay for about 20-30minutes and works the best.of course this is done at a repair shop as this type of cleaning is expensive to buy the machine for an individual to use may be twice.the injectors could also be so plugged with dirt you may have to replace the injectors.

Acts like the fuel is shut off at times

Check fuel pressure in the fuel rail or replace the fuel pump in tank if fuel delivery problem persists.

How do I replace the fuel pressure regulator on my 96 pontiac bonneville? Is it something that is recommended for a mechanic, or can I do it myself? Is it causing my car to stall?

Well its easy to check find the regulator on the fuel rair next remove the vacuum line and see if there is any gas in te line if not have some one start the car if the regulator starts leaking gas out its shot. Its a easy repair take the vacuum line off loosen the big nut on the regulator and remove the smaller hold down bolt now becarefull at this point the fuel rair is under hight pressure so put a rag over the regulator or put on some safety glasses and start to wiggle or pry the regulator from the fuel rail. When u get it out match it up to the new one and make sure all the old o rings are removed from th fuel rail put the new one in start the car and check it for leaks.
