2003 Nissan Murano cranks but does not start.

Has happened intermittently over the last few months but have been able to start car the following day. Yesterday it happened again and this time could not get it started. Service engine light has not been on and there are no fault codes. Today I shot some ether into the intake manifold and engine started briefly then died. I assume fuel pump issue, but am looking for some help.

Have the fuel system pressure tested. Sometimes the check valve in the pressure regulator fails. Testing will ensure which parts aare failing. could be the pump or the regulator.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Murano dies after cranking the ignition

Cause could be a few things, are you in a damp climate? If so I would suggest getting a can of silicon spray and spray all of the wiring in the engine compartment. This happened to me with a Volvo and this solved my problem.

SOURCE: my Nissan terrano 1996 2.7

I just had the computer on my Terrano rebooted, which seems to have solved the problem with it 'die'-ing and surging. One of the local Auto Electrical places sorted it.

I have a 2003 Nissan Murano SE, it quit on me like it ran out of gas but there was still 1/4 of a tank in there. Now, it acts like it wants to start but doesn't.

fuel gauges are not the most reliable instrument in the car
the 1/4 full could in fact be empty
put 5 gallons in the tank and then see if it will go
could be a pump problem as well

Sputtered for a few days, but now won't start at all. Where should I start?

You should have had it properly diagnosed & all
issues resolved six months ago,now you may have
issues you can't afford to repair.

You obviously need professional help from a repair
shop & soon

Do you think 16oz of anything in 16 gallons of gas,
would do anything other than take your money,NO

My 2009 Murano won't start in cold weather after sitting for more then 10 hrs. It attempts to turn over. Started once roadside assistance boosted it. Took it to dealer said there is nothing wrong with it...

Does the starter turn the engine over fast, slow ?
Is it dead after it cranks over a few times ?
I would say you have a bad connection, either positive or negative cable.
Something is loose.
If the battery is fine and has plenty of power to turn the engine over , that is one thing, but if it barely cranks it over and then looses power that is something different.
It sounds to me like there is some kind of intermittent problem with the alternator
You should have a check engine light coming on in your dash.
With this new of vehicle I would tell the dealer to keep the vehicle until they get it fixed and give you a new vehicle to drive until they figure it out.
Please let me know what happens.
