SOURCE: Tried turning on ignition and pump gas pedal three times, but light still flashes

Look in you owners manual if you have one, It should tell you there.
If not call one of your local jiffy lube or minit lube, they should be able to tell you how to reset it.
Good luck

SOURCE: I want to change front brake pads on a vauxhall

If you are not mechanically minded you should not be attempting to change brake parts. If you really want to do the job yourself then get a workshop manual and study it before doing anything. Best of luck!

SOURCE: 1998 olds intrigue change oil light wont turn off

Hummm, the method should be engine off, turn key to on, and three throttle presses, to the floor, not to the floor, will not work. the depression of the throttle needs to be about one second, all with engine off. The key is full throttle indication......
If, however, your car has system management, sometimes you deactivate through that, like Cadillac for example, you press and hold a reset button....Hopefully you find the directions in your owners manual.

If all else fails, stop by a quick lube shop and have them show you how to reset.

SOURCE: Indicator lights for oil ABS, etc., won't turn off

I really need to know exactly which lights are on. If it is the change oil in the information box then you turn the ignition switch on, push the gas pedal down fully 3 times, turn the ign off. Then start the car and if it does not come on, then it has been reset. Sometimes you have to do that several times before it will reset, not sure why. I'm not sure what you mean by ABS and etc.

Oil light

If the oil light is on it's one of 2 things: You have no oil pressure, or the sending unit (also known as the oil pressure switch) is defective and is reading no pressure when there actually is normal pressure. You should always assume it means no pressure, because driving it this way will ruin the engine.

Vauxhall combo van, the spanner light comes on and stays on when ignition is switched on, and the mileage stays illuminated at all times even when the key is removed, just bought van any clues, drives well...

Can mean many things, automatic gearbox, emissions problems and if it flashes, it is an immobilizer fault. The car can be driven, if running ok but the engine management system should be checked ASAP. You will need EOBD diagnostic equipment to find cause. vauxhall can check this 4 u but it will cost u £47 unfortuanely but 4 that price u can get the diagnostic reader ur self the port is under the ash tray or the cover below the hand brakeRAC.htm">http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7402742/Trail/searchtext>RAC.htm

My car wont start, 1997 vauxhall astra 1.7 turbo diesel

This sounds like a problem in the fuel shut off circuit. When you turn the key on, it energizes the fuel shut off solenoid on the injection pump. When you turn off the key, power is removed and the pump is moved by spring to the fuel off position. Check for power at this terminal when you are having a problem, ( with the key on) If no power then I would check the wiring and connectors from this connection to the Ignition key. I believe it is wired direct. That can be checked at http://www.alldata.com/products/index.jsp

subscribe3 and get a wiring schematic for the car and see if it is wired direct to the ign switch of from a relay, I am sure it is a connection problem if you have no power.

A 1.7 diesel even if turboed, is dead slow in any vehicle let alone a van. Enjoy the fuel economy

good luck
