Overheating after head gasket replacement

Renewed thermostat checked pump checked timing still bubbles into recovery bottle and overheats as boottom hose on radiator still cold when overheated

If the water pump is moving the coolant,then you may have a bad head gasket allowing combustion gas into the cooling system.Fill the cooling system right to the top and without the cap on watch for a constant flow of bubbles coming to the top.Bubbles?=bad head gasket or a crack.

Blocked cooling system most likely a stuck thermostat. The coolant is not circulation therefore not getting to heater core. Replace thermostat and it should be fixed

Fill the rad or overflow bottle right to the top and run the engine with no cap on,if you see a constant flow of bubbles your head gasket is leaking or you have a crack somewhere in the cooling system.

Hello! Can not tell from the question if your loosing coolant...But it sounds like an air bubble behind the thermostat is blocking the flow...Remove the thermostat...Replace housing...Buy a back flushing kit from an auto parts store...Back flush the cooling system...Make sure heat is on high...Replace thermostat and refill with 50/50...start the engine with radiator cap off...Let all the air bubble out, even after thermostat opens...Wait until upper hose gets hot then replace the cap...Top off in the recovery tank...Now, monitor temperature...If all is well back flushing and air bleeding cleared the fault...If engine overheats due to loss of coolant I'll address that next...If coolant is not being lost does the engine actually overheat? ie..bubbling into recovery tank...If not the temperature sending unit is defective...send a comment...Guru...saailer

My 98 ford contour keeps overheating i just replaced the radiator and the water pump. And there is no water in the oil. The fans work but it still overheats . What else could be causing it to overheat?

I can't believe anyone would replace the waterpump without also replacing the thermostat. Once overheated, a thermostat is no good anymore. It must be replaced.

But that is not the only possibility. You could have a bad head gasket, without having oil in the water. Only a pressure check can tell. You could also have a collapsing lower hose, as water pump suction causes it to pinch off. You could also have an air bubble from not bleeding it properly when refilling. You could also have a loose waterpump belt. You could have put in the wrong waterpump, as the type for normal V-belts runs the opposite direction of the type for serpentine belts.
There are many more, but that is all I could immediately think of.

I would recommend that you bleed all air out of the cooling system. The bleeder valve is located on top of the engine. Once engine starts to overheat or when you can hear bubbling back into the overflow bottle, turn car off and open bleeder valve. If you see bubbling you have air in your system. Bleed the system a couple of times and see if this helps.A heat sensor sending unit which controls activation of the electric fan could also have failed.But is the heat sensor is properly working then check the radiator cap is it properly fitted or got loose.If its loose it will release the pressure and car will overheat.But if the radiator cap is properly closed.Then its time to check the HEAD GASKET.As you have mostly replaced all the possible faults for overheating and if other mentioned possibilities are checked OK.Then its time to check and replace head gasket. sounds like a head gasket. make sure the radiator is full of coolant and the fan comes on
