The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

I was adjusting the headlight, heard a click, now the headlight is WAY TOO HIGH, and won't come back down

That sounds as the ratchet mechanism on the motor has been exceeded. replace the motor and/or the headlamp if the motor is an integral part of the lamp.

How do you adjust the height of the dip headlights on a 1999 ford cougar please.

2 ways. One on the dash board you have a 3 level adjustment scroll switch and secondly pop the bonnet and on top of the headlight assembly you will find adjusters that can be adjusted with hex socket or hex key (allen key/socket) You will find headlight beam symbols with adjustment angle marks near the adjuster. Let me know if you still cant find it. I will post pics.

I need to adjust headlights on a 95 saturn sc2

With the headlights up, there should be a top screw, back into the headlight assembly and one on the left. Turn them in or out changes the adjustment of the headlight.

Several car wax companys make kits to clean the outside of the headlight lenses. Check your local parts stores. It's usally pretty hard to remove the len, they are often glued on.

1995 cougar seems that 1st gear is fighting reverse. Is there maybe an adjustment? or is it just a bad computer problem?

Well, I don't believe it can go in two gears at once but who knows what a ford will do. It must just be a loss of power and just feels wierd. Have your cat converter ckd for restriction.Good luck

The plastic cover comes off over the top of the head lights when you have the hood open, the adjustments are there. The screws are small.

How do you align headlights on ford cougar?

When you open the hood and look at the headlight assembly you will see 2 plastic gears, they take a hex tool, and the one to adjust the lowbeams is the outermost one towards the fenderwell of the car, the high beam adjustment is the one closest to the radiator.

Hope this helps.
