My battery keeps dying, and I replaced the alernator

with the engine running check the voltage at the battery. If you see 14 volts than the tensioner is not the problem. If it where the problem you would probably hear a belt squeal.

does the battery go dead while you are driving?

What is involved in rebuilding a complete front end of a 2000 chevy truck

Alot is involved bushings and bearings and it will all require a bit of tools about 300$ worth of tools to get started. Need a torque wrench and you will need to align the front end. If its a 4x4 then it will be even more work. If you need specifics please give me the make/model and i can go from there. thanks, Midwest-tek

care must be taken remove the airbag fuse and then remove the hord pad/ds airbag assemble you may need a special tool to do this like a TORX Bit with tamper proof hole in it T40 i think centre steering wheel and remove you may need to remove/loosen coloum trims to access clk spring unclip or unscrew. check that the assembly does not have an indicator that the clock spring is centred green tag or self tapper that locks the two bodys together goodluck

How do I replace the upper Control arms on My 1979 chevy 1/2 ton pickup. I saw a replacement control arm that has the bushings and ball joints already installed. I'm trying to save the high labor cost that...

Since the new arm comes with the bushings, there is no reason to get the tool to install them. Upper arms are relatively easy to install...just a bolt out, bolt in operation as the springs aren't involved. Support the suspension under the lower control arm to take any tension off the upper arm.

you can use belt tool or 3/8 long arm ratched place your tool on tensioner (on pulley side has housing to place your tool in , tensioner between alternator and ps pump one bolt arm and plastic pulley on it stand front of the vehicle and push your tool to firewall to relase the belt tensioner and use other hand and remove belt from the alternator then easly let the tensioner go and remember place the new belt on all the pulleys and leave alternator pulley on last place) front of steering pump reservoir have label that shows the belt assembly make sure new belt in correct position on all the pulleys and push the tensioner and place to belt on correct position and make it tight. before start to vehicle fallow the all belt for make sure no missing pulley and belt is placed straight on all the pulleys no missing lines.

How to change a 2000 ford explorer bypass hose?

You have to remove the tensioner assembly, not just the tensioner pulley, but the whole assembly, in order to access the plastic bypass hose.
Be very careful, as these pipes get old, the plastic becomes brittle, and possibly the flange end will break off and remain in the block when you remove the pipe, check the block opening carefully to remove all of the remaining flange.
Also, be very careful when removing the lover pipe nipple into the engine block, if you try to pry the tensioner assembly off the block, you will probably snap off the machined nipple that locates into the block, Ask me how I know!!! Good Luck, it can be done but you need to move carefully and deliberately. (by the way, a rebuilt tensioner assembly costs about $80 US, the pipe is about $6. New tensioner assembly comes with the pipe)

How do you change a rear main oil seal in a 2000 toyota celica gt

First of all, be certain that the leak is in fact from that seal. many leaks travel to that area.

To change the seal is fairly involved, you need to pull the trans and flywheel. There are some specialzed tools involved. Do you have manual or automatic? Manual requires clutch plate alignment on re assembly, by the way , if manual, be sure to change the release bearing and pilot bearing at minimum. Commonly it would make sense to change the clutch during this process....you're already all the way in there..
