#1 cause is the plug wires on this model, unless you have very high mileage, then change the plugs too.

If a single cylinder misfire, a trouble code should tell you which cylinder? Then, on that cylinder check fuel--spark--compression. If p0300 that is a problem common to all cylinders.
How long since a tune-up? Did you check for codes? Around here, some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free, if there are any.
Is it noticeable at idle or driving down the highway? Both?

no the transmission shift cable is streached and needs to be adjusted. you should be able to shift the van to neutral and start it in that gear. just watch when you park because it will roll away. use parking brake. if it doent start in neutral then your cable may be snaped and not noving the gear selector on trans at all

your shift cable is stretched or broke. try starting in nutral. if this doesn't work you need to adjust or replace shift cable. this is a very easy fix but it should start in neutral.

How to reset the computer on a 2002 pontiac montana

Which computer are you wanting to reset? There are at least 5 on your vehicle. The next question is WHY do you want to reset it? Are you trying to clear fault codes or are you wanting to clear adaptive learning stategies? or BOTH? Are you having a problem with warning lights coming on? If so, have the problems been corrected that CAUSED the lights to come on?

Anyway, a scan tool is required to reset ANY of the computers on your vehicle.

Drawing of rear brakes 2004 montana so i can see which way the adjusting fly wheel points

The end with the adjusting wheel is always towards the rear of the vehicle or the end with the threads goes towards the front of the vehicle, however you want to look at it. Since the auto adjuster arm is on the rear shoe, if you put it the other way it would eventually adjust out until the adjuster arm would no longer make contact with the wheel.

According to Mieneke the computer in my 2004 Pontiac Montana is not responding, is this fixable and if so affordable?

it just means their scanner is not reading you ecm, could be a glitch on their part not yours, try someone else, i doubt that your ecm is faulty if the vehicle runs
