Have you thought about looking into the ECU or the BCM?? I doubt its the BSM, but you might have an issue with the ECU.

No the flush will not help. Will the fans come on when you turn the ac on.. You should have a fan relay under the hood.. Have you hooked up a scanner to the computer.. If it never gets hot enough it wont turn on. The fan is computer controlled by a modulated ground. If you dont get a ground signal at the motor when at 230 degrees you may have a defective PCM.

6-5-2011 I have a similar problem with my 2002 3.4, AC wont come on. Engine cooling fans wont come on via system on but have checked out ok. tested PCM to the cooling temp sender, got the 5.1 volts. Changed the temp sensor but didn't solve the problem. Is the ECM the problem? Does it have the AC locked out?

I had this problem on my chrysler and came to find out I had a wire burned out in the hornance so instead of replacing the hornance I jumped a wire behind the burned part. Sounds like its a wiring problem.

Temp gauge not registering and cooling fan's run continuously

the temp gauge works of a different sender to the coolant sensor. IT has 1 wire only and changes resistance as the water heats up there by moving the needle on the gauge up the scale Check that the wire is tight on the sender unit and if so then replace the sender unit.. The difficulty in re starting the motor may be because it is over heating but you would not know this because of the faulty sender unit.

I have a 2001 chevy impala with a 3400 v 6. when the engine is cool the fans run but when the engine reaches operating temp the fans go off.

If the check engine light is not on, I would want to check the computer with a scanner to see what the temp sensor is telling the computer the coolant temp is. The problem could be in the computer or the fan relay.

2003 Chevy Impala, running hot. Changed fan shroud because cooling fan wouldn't turn on, switched out fan relays, no check engine light. Cooling fan still will not turn on.

Would turn the key on no need to start it and unplug the ect engine coolant temp sensor. If fans come on then suspect a faulty etc which may not turn on the engine light. Which engine is in the vehicle so I can help locate the ect which is usually by the thermostat housing.
