Get a can of carb cleaner and spray around the intake and all vacuum hoses. the engine will change speeds when you find a leak.

Sounds like you have a wire crossed thats the only reason I can see that would cause your engine to shake.

you didnt do sparks 1 by one, and mangled the firing order.

1: mark the cap for #1, follow the #1 cylinder spark wire to cap

mark the cap, post as #1 or be very angry soon,,,, i promise./

2 : the replace wires 1 by1 , if not , it will never run.

3: also know dizzy rotor direction, crank and look

CCW or CW.? write it down. for later.

firing order is 1,3,4,2. in the direction in above line.3

My engine turns but no spark I changed ignition coil and still no spark, what could it be?

Depending on which engine your car is equipped with; the following components could be at fault.

Crankshaft Position Sensor
Camshaft Position Sensor
ECM (Engine Control Module)
Distributor Cap or Rotor
Fouled Spark Plugs
Bad Plug Wires

If they haven't been replaced in the last 30K miles, I suggest you check and /or replace the the plugs and wires first.

If your engine is equipped with a distributor, check and/or replace the distributor cap and rotor if it hasn't been replaced in the last 30k miles.

If your engine is equipped with crank or cam sensors have them tested.

When I start my 92 acura legend the front end shakes quite a bit then settles into a normal idling. Next, I notice that when I place the car in reverse this shaking noise is also evident. the engine light...

get the check engine light code first. this should give u a good direction of where to start. could also be multiple other problems but start with the obvious check engine light first.

Why does the engine shake when slowing down?

The engine will shake when slowing down, because releasing the accelerator drops the rpm of the engine immediately. The engine only "knows" it has slowed down and will shake the same way if standing still.

There are many reasons for the shaking. All are due to needing a tune up. Poor timing, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc.

If you need help fixing something, give me a call.

I HAVE A 1999 ISUZU TROOPER THAT KEEPS SHAKING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING. I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE TO GET IT CHECKED AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ERG VALVE BUT IM NOT SURE

They're idiots. If the check-engine light is flashing, your engine is misfiring, which is why the truck is shaking. Continuing to drive like that is very dangerous for the engine and can cause permanent damage.

First thing to do is to put new plugs in and make sure they're properly gapped (most plugs come pre-gapped these days, but verify it). Install them and try it out.

Your truck (I believe) has a distributor rather than individual coilpacks, so if the plugs don't do it, inspect the spark plug wires and see if any are damaged. If so, replace the whole set.

Take the distributor cap off and inspect the rotor and contact points on the bottom of the cap. The contact points should be clear of corrosion. The edge of the rotor should be ridged, like the edge of a dime. If it is not, replace the cap and rotor.

These are the most common reasons for a misfiring engine. Hopefully one or more will fix your truck - post up if they don't and we can continue to troubleshoot it.

First one minut engine running rough

could be many problems. Do u have a check engine light on in the dash? May also want to check spark plug wires, cap and rotor. Spray them with water while the motor is running, if it acts funny, bad wires or cap/rotor.

I need to know which engine is in ur golf ex: 1.8l 2.0l
