It can depend on whether it is the twin rear doors or the single swing up tailgate.
Tools will be Torx bits (or Torx keys), screw drivers and a set of pliers, (grips).
If it is the 'catch loop' it hooks into it is simply bolted into place using torx bolts. You might need to remove some plastic trim to see the bolts.
If it is the actual mechanism, it takes a bit more work. You will need to remove the trim panel on the inside of the door, usually screws around the edges. There might also be a plastic skin behind it.
The lock mechanism is bolted into place from the outside but is mounted inside the door panel. It will be a pain in the **** to get out as there are connector rods to the door handles you will need to disconnect as well.
Testimonial: "Cheers Simon , ill give that a go and keep you posted , i saw the connectors after removing the panel and one of those has come out and wont stay in , thats why i assumed the best way would be to remive lock , sort out the loose connection arm and then refit , thanks again !!"
Have a good look at it first as they are often held in with plastic clips that snap. Sometimes a small cable tie, (zip tie), can fix the problem until you find a replacement part. Auto dismantler’s yards are useful for practicing getting the part out and cheaper if you only need a clip or something off the part.

SOURCE: rear doors will not close just keep bouncing open
Before you take the inner door panel apart try to spray an oil like WD40 into the door latch mechanism & Open & close many times. The return spring for the latch has stuck and it needs some waking up. Getting then inner panel off does not help that much in access.
